PICTURE THIS #273 ~ ALL THINGS MARITIME

All things Maritime, well I had to go dig around a bit for this one. It is a shame too. My grandfather was a shipbuilder and I spent countless hours playing, working (as a kid) around the boat house. Always by the water in most cases. But then to go and look for Maritime shots, I find I am coming up short. So I will do my best for this one Anders.

Indonisia
This was back in the early 80s in Singapore. The crew was heading out for a day of fishing.

Raising the sails, always took a bit of teamwork.

Smaller in size but there are the big boats too.

Oh yes let us not forget the Vikings. They were some of the early birds.

Now remember to keep the brass clean and a careful eye out for shallow water. and by all means have a happy sailing day.

  3. Hi Randall !! Great shots for this week's theme. Love the fishing vessels in the first two shots, and also the shot of the two small yachts with the liner in the distance. Gotta say those are the least-scary Vikings I've ever seen!! LOL.

  8. Congrats on the banner picture. Looking at it, I noticed something I did not notice the first time. The sail on the rightmost boat is translucent and a man can be seen through it working at the rigging. Marvelous!!
