Great theme and magnificent banner photo!! Your dad would be so proud, Pat. Just one picture from me this week, I am a bit busier than I would like to be. But I always enjoy participating.

First of all on behalf of dad I would like to thankyou for the banner photo. He does not have a computer, but I am sure he would be thrilled if he saw that he was photo of the week.

I did actually do a few people shots when I was in London. I do not do them very often as I am a bit careful with who and where I shoot.

Lately I discovered the advantages of having an iPhone. I got myself a new edition, No. 6. I blog a lot and found that if I take a photo I can immediately upload it to Flickr from my phone and it goes quicker. Anyhow Mr. Swiss and son No. 1 were shifting our TV cupboard as Mr. Swiss had to do something to the electric plug behind it and I was snapping away. Here is one of the iPhone photos.

Here he is again, my dad. I sort of did this when he wasn't looking. I think I had aspirations as a famous portrait phototographer - it is supposed to be dad and not the queen looking at him from the window ledge.

And here is the man of my life, waiting for the train. Not really, it was one of those occasions when I was travelling and he was waiting for the train to arrive.

Ok, not a selfie, Mr. Swiss took it, but here you see the photographer at work in the wilds of Switzerland

Many thanks to Heidi for hosting this week. Great theme, I do like people shots. The only pity is that Belita is away on vacation at the moment, she does great candid people shots!!! I haven't done any people shots (apart from a few selfies) for several years, so mine will be from my archive. You probably remember most of them, I've posted them all before!!

Some really great pictures so far, I have enjoyed looking at them. Perfect shot for the banner, what an expressive capture from Belita! Here are mine:

Egret reflected in the Lemon Bay River. I egret that the water was not calmer.

Palms reflected in rainwater.

The recent lunar eclipse. Had a discussion with Tom about whether this is a reflection or a shadow. I went with part shadow, part reflection. It is hiding behind the sycamore tree.

I took this photo on a London bus showing the reflection of the sun on the inside of the bus.

A duck perched on a stone in the River Aar with his accompanying reflection in the water.

The sun reflecting through the glass cover of the engine in a Ferrari parked on our local parking place (unfortunately not my Ferrari)

And as an extra, the happiness reflected in my dad's eyes when he got his telegram from the queen on his 100th birthday.

Picture This #322 ~ Reflections

Hi everyone, this is Mitch and I'll be hosting this week. Sorry we had a break last week but I didn't think we'd have enough participants to make it worthwhile. I know at least one of our regulars (Belita) will be away for several weeks, but I think everyone else is back now. This week's theme is REFLECTIONS. I thought maybe we'd done this one before recently, but when I checked the Picture This Flickr account, I saw that we haven't done this theme in a LONG time!!

Here are mine:

1) Perspective Reflection. A shot I took just the week before last while visiting Baz. It's already one of my own favourites.

2) Fuzzy Fotographer. A sort of 'selfie', taken at the visitor's centre of the Hoover Dam. The distortion is not due to camera shake, but in the odd reflective nature of the curved mirrored glass. 

3) Riverside Reflection. Taken on a very still December day back in 2008.

4) Reedflections. Another favourite of mine, the trick is to photograph the base of the reed stalks in good reflective light, but preferrably when there's some motion in the water so it breaks up the reflection slightly.
