Congratulations, Pat, for the very original banner image!
Thanks, Anders, for the never-chosen-before theme!
The Chinese New Year, the year of the monkey, starts on Feb. 8, but yesterday and today the many thousands of Chinese living in Lisbon have already kicked off the celebrations. This afternoon, I happened to walk through a park where many Chinese were attending traditional performances.
Giving red envelopes is a custom at the Chinese New Year (I stopped just to take the photos but I believe the envelopes would be given to the children who were wearing traditional attires to perform Chinese dances)
wow wonderful belita love your shots
ReplyDeleteHi Belita!! Wonderful shots for this week's theme. You really captured this Chinese girl's features so well. I've always liked your 'candid' people shots. I also like how you put the red back 'into' the B&W shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trio of shots. Especially love the close-up of the girl
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, Belita. I'm sorry I'm so late in commenting. I love the technique you are using, to make the lanterns and envelopes red. Very special pictures, my favorite is the top. Thank you also for the information about what they are doing.
