Picture This #419 ~ Back Of Things

Great theme and a marvellous banner shot by Anders. I love that little boat; I wish I had one for myself.

Here are my pictures:

Scratching your backside can be difficult.

Capturing dolphins in the wild can be challenging. But I did get the back side.

The back of this truck is made of wood.

The back of an ibis.

Many thanks to Pat for hosting this week, and an intriguing theme she has chosen!! Took me some time to find some shots that fit the theme!! These are mostly older shots.

1) The 'back side' of Liberty!!

2)  The rear-end of the ferry to Ireland.

3) At the back of the worker's houses in Batsto industrial village are some very important facilities!!!

4) You wouldn't think photographing the back of someone's head would be a good idea, but I still think this is one of the best candid shots I've taken.

PICTURE THIS #419 ~ BACK OF THINGS

Hi Anders!  Seeing a boat as a banner image is always good but on a sunny and warm day like today here, in Lisbon, is really pleasant! What a coincidence.... In the afternoon, I will go on a sunset cruise...

A very uncommon and creative subject, Pat!

My interpretations of Pat's choice of theme range from people and things to animals...

Lisbon - Moorish neighbourhood

Lisbon - by the riverside

Thirsty ducks at a Lisbon park

Hello, Pat from Switzerland. We can show the back of things this week: animal, vegetable or mineral - it's up to you!!

My first one is the back of a Swiss garbage cart.

And the back of a cow - looks like nearly milking time.

A cyclist on the road.

The back entrance to one of our theaters in Solothurn.

And one of our builders carrying our concrete step on his shoulders.

PT CDXVIII ~ Modes Of Travel.

Great theme by Heidi and banner by Belita.

A steam engine at the Ängelholm Train Museum.

A J-35 Draken fighter which stands at the entrance to the old SAF F10 airbase which

now houses the Ängelholm Museum of Flight.

A small fishingboat moored to a dock at the Knähaken harbour, Helsingborg.

Many thanks to Heidi for hosting this week. Hope everyone enjoyed their 'break' from PT.  Here's my take on the theme.....four different types of transport.

1) Steam train. I kinda miss the days when train carriages had separate compartments, and a corridor.

2) Similarly, old-fashioned sailing vessels seemed to have more character than modern liners. This schooner was moored in Cardiff Bay.

3) When in New York........hail a yellow cab!!

4) But really, there's only one way to fly.......

Sublime picture by Belita to start us off after a two week break. And a good theme by Heidi. Here are my modes of travel.

Flying.

More flying.

Benni, congratulations for the beautiful banner image... I do love it!

Picture This #417 ~ Meadows, Fields And Wetlands

Thanks for hosting Benni and a wonderful banner photo.

A sunflower field in the area around Schaffhausen. It is an area where they grow them for the sunflower oil production.

This is what happens when the field has been mowed. It is left to dry in the sun to provide hay for the animals in the winter.

This field is in our village and in summer the cows take over.

And here another sort of field: vineyards in the Mosel area of Germany. The fields at the front belongs to the parents of my daughter-in-law. They also have a couple in higher places, but everything seems to grow on a slope in that area.

Picture This #417 ~ Meadows, Fields And Wetlands

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. A great theme, I really like this one. Was difficult deciding which ones to post, I have so many!!

1) Meadow full of buttercups. Dinefwr Country Park, Wales.

2) The wetlands around the River Teifi, Wales.

3) Cattle enjoying another meadow at Dinefwr Country Park, Wales.

4) Boardwalk through wetland reserve, Pembroke, Wales.
