Happy Easter everyone!! This is Mitch, I'll be your host for this week's challenge. Cats and Dogs. The two most popular domesticated animals in the world. Most people have one or the other.....some have both!! I used to have several dogs many years ago but haven't had any in recent times, so all my shots are of other people's moggies and doggies!! LOL. If you have dogs or cats of your own, lets see pics of them (several photos of the same animal is ok, if that's all you have) or you can do like me and post 'candid' animal shots.
1) My neighbour's cat sunbathing this week. She greets me most days when I arrive home from work.
2) This dog was waiting in hope of a lick of ice-cream.
3) This cat was giving it plenty of meow!!
4) My mom's dog 'Sable'. I love that mischievious glint in her eyes.

This is a great theme that Heidi selected. I sometimes have to search through my images to match the theme but in this case, I do have several.
This photo is the market stalls in the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, Italy.
This is a view from a NYC store window. I forgot what numbered street intersected with Seventh Avenue.
I entered this photo before. It's Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA.
One last view of NYC. A must stop whenever we go. Hershey's.

Picture This #246 ~ Street Scenes
First to compliment Baz on his wonderful banner shot. Beautiful.
I don't have a lot of street scenes and those I do are - um - pedestrian. But here are two you may enjoy.
When a street is not a street but, suddenly, a drawbridge.
The 2014 Venice, Florida, Corvette Show. Difficult to take pictures of the cars without getting people in the picture.

Recognise it Mitch? The market place of Marrakesh, Jemaa-El-Fna, taking from the famous café opposite, situated on the first floor.
This is the first view you have of Solothurn if you enter on the East Side. Part of the steps of the St. Urs cathdral, the hotel Krone and the Jesuit Church. Note the cobbled streets which were replaced in the old style.
A typical street scene in Bern. All the streets are built in this style, nicely covered so who cares if it rains, you remain dry.

Many thanks to Heidi for hosting the challenge this week, particularly as it was at short notice coz I forgot to organise it!! LOL. A really good theme she has chosen, one I'm sure everyone will have shots for.
I have concentrated in the last couple of years more on nature photography, so I had to go further back in my archive for some 'street scenes'. Here are mine:
1) Enjoying a drink and good company on a sunny afternoon.
2) New York street scene. World famous Macy's department store in the background. But it was the yellow cabs pulling away from the stop-sign like the start of a race that caught my attention!!
3) I don't think this girl liked the smell coming from the food-vendor, judging by the way she was holding her nose!!
4) New York streets......scene from above!!

PICTURE THIS #245 ~ STILL OR CALM

Congratulations to Marianne for her beautiful photograph of the bird. Excellent shot for the week's banner.
I have been absent for several week. We vacationed at Disney World in the middle of last month. I can only state that I do procrastinate. I viewed this week's theme and became motivated again. Here are my choices.
The first photo is from an idea that I had to photograph porches in my town. I never completed the project. This is probably the best image of that project. It expresses stillness on a warm summer morning.
I took a photo of the reflection of the pool cover. I wanted to catch the clouds and the trees.
This photo was taken at one of our state parks. There are no people as you can see the benches and picnic tables in the distance are empty. It was a beautiful autumn morning to catch the sun rising over the pond.
