Congratulations to Baz for the beautiful banner!
This year, Summer has not come to Portugal. Probably, it has taken vacations and gone to some other country...
Well, my contributions for this week's theme, nicely chosen by Deb, were all taken in the Baltic Republics. My driving took me to many places, some more beautiful and interesting than others, yet most of them still showing very evident Communist traces. Sometimes I wondered whether I was driving through the then Soviet Union. Now, back home, I realize my expectations were too high. That's the reason that justifies my disappointment, somehow!!

Hi Belita!! Good to see you back after your vacation. Sorry it was disappointing for you. Lovely first shot, looks like a nice place to sit in the evening sun. Had to smile at the second shot, with those gulls and pigeons, it could have been just about anywhere!! Judging by the clothing worn in the third shot, and the general lack of people, I'd guess it wasn't very warm. I like that last shot, of the double-heart lock.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mitch! The second shot shows gulls and two crows. It was my first time to see crows on the beach. There were many crows everywhere but not many pigeons. In Portugal, mother and baby on a windy and cold day would never go to the beach. Perhaps it was not that cold for them as it was for me...
Deleteour summer wasn't to bad but not normal to wet grrrr the sun went south for the summer
ReplyDeletelove your shots of your trip wonderful thanks
Lucky you, Heidi!

DeleteYou're welcome, Belita
DeleteReally glad you shared these fantastic pics. Loved viewing them. Loved the first shot.
ReplyDeleteI for one was guessing where you had been. Really something completely different. My No. 2 son is sometimes in those countries for conferences. I find it refreshing to visit other countries and you have made some very good shots.
ReplyDeleteSorry you were disappointed with your trip, Belita. The photos are lovely. The pavilion on the pier is lovely. it would be nice to spend an evening there and watch the sunset.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture of the gulls in flight.
Sweet pic of the mom and babe enjoying the beach. I don't think I've ever seen a stroller on the beach!
The last one of the lock is my favorite. It makes me think of the Pont des Arts in France. 'Looks like someone may be starting another trend here. Is this on a bridge?
Benita, I like your photos in the Baltic States. I love the photo of the mother and child on the beach in Estonia. You always seem to portray the people in every country you visit. The viewer gets a glimpse of life in that country.
