Thanks, Mitch! I feel honoured to see one of my photos as a banner image for this week.
Pat, love the theme. I feel pleased to share four photos out of the many others I found in my folder.
Let me start with a photo I took yesterday, in Lisbon
From Lisbon, let's go indoors a hotel in Madrid
Now let me show you very uncommon stairs, in Polignano (Puglia-Italy). The poem 'Passer-by' is written on the steps. Sin beyond any sin is the sin of blindness of souls to other souls and joy beyond any joy is the joy of realizing the good we have seen, and seeing the good at the miraculous moment! Edgar Lee Masters (1868–1950), American attorney, poet, biographer, and dramatist. I was told the house owner changes the poem from time to time...
And then this one, I took in Rezekne, a small town in Latvia.
Hi Belita!! Fabulous shots for this week's theme!! I like all the trees and plants around the stairs in the first shot. The stairs in the second photo have a classical elegance. I think that third shot is great!! What a wonderful idea to put poetry on steps!! The last shot is very similar to one I almost posted for this theme, of stairs leading to an old castle!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mitch! The stairs in the bottom shot didn't lead to any monument but just to a spot from where one could enjoy a view over the city.
DeleteUtterly wonderful palmtrees and bushes lining the well-laid stairs7
ReplyDeleteExquisite carped laid upon the stairs
Delightful idea
Beautiful meandering stairs
Thanks, Anders!
DeleteYou're welcome, Belita :)
DeleteLove the stairs in the first shot, with a tree growing in the middle. The stairs in the hotel are very unique. I have never seen poetical stairs before, very interesting. We have similar stairs to those in your last picture. they have a very good design.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat!
DeleteHi love all your wonderful stairs
ReplyDeletethe first one is cool love the poetical stairs
Thanks, Heidi!
DeleteHi Belita, what marvelous shots. I love your banner picture because it reminds me of so many good times along the shore. Also the sky is brilliant. Your stairway from Lisbon is wonderful; I am so glad they left the tree there. The staircase in Madrid is so elegant! I want to float down in a white ballgown. Fascinating story of the poem on the stairs in Italy. And the one in Latvia looks so ancient, or maybe that is the stone structure beside it. My favorite.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Benni!
