What a wonderful theme, Heidi. You are right, it has been a long cold winter and many of us are longing for the cheer of flowers. In my case, I have gone to chase the flowers and have a couple from the Venice, Florida orchid show.
From the orchid show. My camera told me it was a face.
My favorite orchid of the show.
From several years ago, a brave crocus in the snow. These come up just after the snowdrops.
Maple tree flowers. Another harbinger of spring.
Love the fiery glow of the first ones, the gentle green of the snowcovered stems and the sweet handlike petals in the third one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anders.
DeleteThese are all very nice and love the bright colors. Flowers just put smiles on the faces of people who look at them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Randall. It is interesting to me that the further south, the brighter the colors of the flowers.
DeleteI have never seen the flowers on a red maple (until now) :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful orchids and I love how the droplets are clinging to the crocus :)
Thank you, Danette. Maple tree flowers give out quite a bit of pollen, but they are pretty.
Deleteoh wow love those orchids and the little crocus is sweet and brave thanks
ReplyDeleteI love my little crocus. So brave to come out despite our late snows. Thanks!
DeleteHi Benni !! Great shots for this week's theme!! I love the orchid in the first shot. It does look a bit like a face (in the same way that some pansies look like faces, too). The shot of the crocus buds pushing their way through the snow is wonderful. The light on the maple-flowers is just lovely, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Benni! I think your camera told you that face was smiling at you... Very nice colours in the second shot... Good contrast of the green and white.... Love that branch of the maple tree... it has some oriental feel...
ReplyDeleteI love orchids, have my own show, great shots. Interesting shot of the crocus. Ours are now flowering but no frost. and good view of the maple tree.
ReplyDeleteLovely orchids, Benni! They're all beautiful shots. I especially love the crocus in the snow! Maybe we'll be seeing some of those soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for looking and making such nice comments on my pictures. I hope for all of us to have nice spring weather very soon.
