Wonderful theme from Anders!! Lots of possibilities. I colored a bit outside the lines.

Recreation of a folk artform: painting with frosting on sugar cubes. This was commonly done in the 19th century for special occasions but these cubes were done more recently.
My ducks are delighted to be banner picture.

Thank you, Anders. :)
DeleteYou're welcome, Benni :)
Deletecongratulations on the wonderful banner photo which is a work of art in itself. Love the rooster and a Chevy is always a great example of art, they don't make them like that any more. The sugar cubes are interesting, never seen that before.
ReplyDeleteThey don't make them like that anymore, thank you for your kind words.
Deletehi benni congrats fot the banner. cool pics. ciao
ReplyDeleteGrazie molto!
DeleteHi Benni !! Wonderful shots for Anders' theme. I really like that metal rooster, that's the kind of thing I'd like to have outside my home. Cool classic Chevy......a real work of automotive art. That last photo is fascinating. An unusual art-form, to be sure. Must take a lot of patience!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mitch. I found the cubes among my mother-in-law's things. They were painted in Berea, Kentucky, an art school dedicated to preserving folk art.
DeleteHi Benni! Congratulations for the banner.... the shot is really nice....I like to see that single duck apparently going to take another direction. Very good shots for Anders' theme... The rooster is a cute piece to decorate the spot wherever it is placed....If I happened to see those sugar cubes on sale, I guess I would not leave the store without them...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Belita. I liked those cubes too when I found them with my mother-in-law's things. I have no idea how she preserved them for so long. I wanted to take more pictures of the rooster, but my husband was hot and wished to trot on home. (sigh)
