Picture This #183: Five Senses
Water is not just water according to cat logic. It is like wine - it matures and it depends from the consistency of the earth which deeply influences the taste. At least that is the logic according to Nera cat when she is having a tasting session.

To hear is important, especially if you are having a serious practice on the drums in the hobby room (psst - don't tell Mr. Swiss about the action photo).

What are we eating. It was a first aid group practice to test how it is if one of your senses is missing. This time we could not see and had to taste and guess what it was. Although taken with my camera I am sitting on the right at the front.

PICTURE THIS #183 : THE FIVE SENSES
Hello everybody! Belita here to host this week's challenge.
Pat had such a great idea for last week 's theme - 4 legs - that it inspired me to choose the number five. Five? Yes, the five senses. We learn about the world around us with them, don't we? We can hear the sounds of nature or listen to music, smell a rose, feel an object we touch, see a bird flying, and taste an apple. Please show us your shots depicting three out of the five senses.
Thanks!
Thanks!
My three contributions:
HEARING/listening to music
SEEING what she could have for lunch
TOUCHING a bronze bell that is seen outside the Maritime Museum (Lisbon)

I posed our dog while she was sleeping by placing this magazine under her head. I thought that the magazine title Imaging was appropriate for dreams. We know dogs dream but we don't know what they dream about.

My News ............ in short .........
I promise I will get to the challenge, 4 legs, darling pat, have been busy and not in the mood for posting, it will happen, I promise.
For those of you that have been praying for my friend Hem, thank you. Hem went home to Our Lord on Friday morning early, so we have been busy sorting stuff out for the funeral, which will be on Thursday. I am putting up some family here by us as Les is short of space, as you know we are busy converting to a bed and breakfast so I have 2 double rooms and a single that is ready and a double bathroom . Obviously still running our Office Supplies business, so life is pretty hectic.
My son has moved girlfriend in, just to add to my stress, but at least they are now both working and has promised to start paying soon (whenever soon will be, is another matter)
Our darling Kerry, my step daughter, is pregnant, it is a girl and she is half way already, due 2nd June
That's it for now, see you laters, I tend to hang out on FB when time permits, takes less energy
32 degrees C here, blue skyes, humidity of 75, so in shorts and strappy T , sweltering in office
Love
Marianne

PICTURE THIS 182 : FOUR LEGS:
Yes, I've been absent for several weeks because "December-things" are difficult for me and moreover life wasn't just a routine these days... :)
At first, I thought I didn't have "four legs pictures" only six legs, but finally it was difficult to choose between all those I'd found!
No special comments for my 1st one: I like it because the colours are pleasant, you can see the movement and the efforts of the horse...
My second choice is more difficult to explain... but I just had to ... Three years ago, on January, the 14th Daniel had a stroke and never became conscious anymore... He adored that picture... I'm a country girl and he was a town citizen... I feel more concerned by Monsanto and the disappearance of bees than by the deshumanization of people living in town... Perhaps that kind of message is just "too much" for me to be able to like it without restrictions...
Last one... just for the smile! Taken in Cancale " the "oyster capital" of Brittany...

Picture This Challenge 182: Four Legs
This was a real challenge and I had to go back into my archives to find 4 legged creatures. It was a fun trip into my old pictures and I came up with these three:
A friendly gopher turtle ambled out of the jungle on the edge of the beach looking for straw and grass to eat.

One of my favorite Christmas presents was this bronze leopard. I wanted to find a different background for him than the carpet, but I liked the way the sun was coming through the cobalt blue vase on the window sill. I think he is a replica of a leopard found in Cleopatra's palace.

This picture was not taken by me! I am the person being used as furniture by the cat and this is how I often find myself blogging on chilly mornings.

PICTURE THIS CHALLENGE 182 - FOUR LEGS
PT Challenge 182: Four Legs
Many thanks to Pat for hosting the challenge this week. Her theme of 'Four Legs' can be interpreted in lots of ways, not just animals. However, as animal photography is something I do a lot, animals is what you get!! LOL. All of mine were taken in Zion National Park, Utah.
1) Mule Deer. Very skittish, needed all my zoom for this one.!!

2) Ground Squirrel. No zoom needed, these guys walk right up to you hoping for food.

3) Lizard. You need keen eyes to spot this guy, as he's using his camouflage to good effect!!
