PT Challenge 182: Four Legs

Many thanks to Pat for hosting the challenge this week. Her theme of 'Four Legs' can be interpreted in lots of ways, not just animals. However, as animal photography is something I do a lot, animals is what you get!! LOL.  All of mine were taken in Zion National Park, Utah.

1)  Mule Deer. Very skittish, needed all my zoom for this one.!!

2) Ground Squirrel. No zoom needed, these guys walk right up to you hoping for food.

3) Lizard. You need keen eyes to spot this guy, as he's using his camouflage to good effect!!

  2. 3 great photos. I even need a zoom for my cats sometimes. It was worth it for that lovely photo of the deer. I want some ground squirrels in my garden, they are so sweet. And the lizard is a great shot.

    1. Thanks Pat. There was a little group of about four of those deer, but that was the only one who kept still long enough to get a good shot of. They then ran into the river and walked/swam to the other side. Joanne got a shot of them in the water. Not sure the felines would agree about having ground-squirrels in your garden!! LOL.

  4. Brilliant shots Mitch. The little deer is beautiful and the squirrel is a little cutie. We don't have them here. The lizard is awesome, you must have great eyesight to find him.

    1. Thanks Shayna. The thing I like most about the Mule Deer are their huge ears :-)) Those ground-squirrels are very common in Zion, there almost as many of them as there are tourists!! LOL.

  6. Gosh I am amazed that you actually spotted that lizard ... he is barely noticeable. How amazing is nature!
That little squirrel is too adorable ... he is obviously well fed!!

    1. Strangely enough, I had no trouble spotting him, I guess I must have either very good eyesight, or good at spotting things in patterns!! There are lots of notices in Zion advising not to feed the wildlife, but I'm sure there are some people who ignore the signs.

  7. Three awesome shots, Mitch! You must have very sharp eyes, we wouldn't be 'gifted' with that fantastic shot of the lizard, otherwise. I love the squirrel photo but my the deer is my favourite... it reminds me of 'Bambi' movie that made me cry when I was a child...

    1. Thanks Belita. The shot of the deer was actually the hardest one of the three to get. They are very skittish and will run at the slightest hint of danger. I only had a few moments to get the shot before he (she?) was off running with the others.

    1. Hi Sue. I don't understand what the problem is? You posted your entry using HTML from Photobucket last week with no problem. Can't you just do it the same way again?

    2. Hi again Sue. I'll try to help out here as much as I can. I'm sending you a step-by-step guide for posting an entry on 'Picture This' that I created for someone else who was also experiencing problems. It helped them and they are able to post now. I'm sending it to your g-mail address as it's the only one I have for you. It's specifically for using HTML from Flickr, the reason being I've never used Photobucket, so can't give instructions for that site. If you're still having problems after trying the guide, send me an e-mail to picturethistng@gmail.com and I'll try to figure out a solution.
