Many thanks to Pat for hosting the challenge this week. Her theme of 'Four Legs' can be interpreted in lots of ways, not just animals. However, as animal photography is something I do a lot, animals is what you get!! LOL. All of mine were taken in Zion National Park, Utah.
1) Mule Deer. Very skittish, needed all my zoom for this one.!!
2) Ground Squirrel. No zoom needed, these guys walk right up to you hoping for food.
3) Lizard. You need keen eyes to spot this guy, as he's using his camouflage to good effect!!
OH MITCH YOURS ARE LOVELY
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi :-))
DeleteLove all these. Great captures. A good eye for finding that lizard.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda :-))
Delete3 great photos. I even need a zoom for my cats sometimes. It was worth it for that lovely photo of the deer. I want some ground squirrels in my garden, they are so sweet. And the lizard is a great shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. There was a little group of about four of those deer, but that was the only one who kept still long enough to get a good shot of. They then ran into the river and walked/swam to the other side. Joanne got a shot of them in the water. Not sure the felines would agree about having ground-squirrels in your garden!! LOL.
DeleteSweet and cute and very well camouflaged.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anders.
DeleteBrilliant shots Mitch. The little deer is beautiful and the squirrel is a little cutie. We don't have them here. The lizard is awesome, you must have great eyesight to find him.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shayna. The thing I like most about the Mule Deer are their huge ears :-)) Those ground-squirrels are very common in Zion, there almost as many of them as there are tourists!! LOL.
DeleteTotal WOW on that lizard!! That is an amazing shot and an amazing camoflage!
ReplyDeleteThanks Benni:-)) It's one of my own fave wildlife shots I've taken
DeleteGosh I am amazed that you actually spotted that lizard ... he is barely noticeable. How amazing is nature!
ReplyDeleteThat little squirrel is too adorable ... he is obviously well fed!!
Strangely enough, I had no trouble spotting him, I guess I must have either very good eyesight, or good at spotting things in patterns!! There are lots of notices in Zion advising not to feed the wildlife, but I'm sure there are some people who ignore the signs.
DeleteThree awesome shots, Mitch! You must have very sharp eyes, we wouldn't be 'gifted' with that fantastic shot of the lizard, otherwise. I love the squirrel photo but my the deer is my favourite... it reminds me of 'Bambi' movie that made me cry when I was a child...
ReplyDeleteThanks Belita. The shot of the deer was actually the hardest one of the three to get. They are very skittish and will run at the slightest hint of danger. I only had a few moments to get the shot before he (she?) was off running with the others.
DeleteHi Mitch All your shots are just perfection.
ReplyDeleteI am having trouble with finding where to post my photos here???
Everything is very large -strange.
Also on other posts pictures have disappeared.I don't know what is going on with me and blogger. It wont let me post from flickr or photobucKet either says wrong URL/..
I don't see where to post my picture here?
Will be back..
Hi Sue. I don't understand what the problem is? You posted your entry using HTML from Photobucket last week with no problem. Can't you just do it the same way again?
DeleteHi again Sue. I'll try to help out here as much as I can. I'm sending you a step-by-step guide for posting an entry on 'Picture This' that I created for someone else who was also experiencing problems. It helped them and they are able to post now. I'm sending it to your g-mail address as it's the only one I have for you. It's specifically for using HTML from Flickr, the reason being I've never used Photobucket, so can't give instructions for that site. If you're still having problems after trying the guide, send me an e-mail to picturethistng@gmail.com and I'll try to figure out a solution.
DeletePerfect all 3 Mitchy! I've already told you but your pictures are an inspiration for me... Last one is really fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kia :-)) Good to see you back and taking part again.
DeleteWonderful shots mate just as I would expect;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Baz :-))
