Hi everyone, this is Mitch. I'll be your host for this week's theme. Just a few thoughts before we get to this week's theme. Blogger seems to have been quieter than usual the last couple of weeks, and this includes PT. Several regulars seem to have been missing. Joanne is recovering from shoulder surgery at the moment and can't sit at a computer for very long, and Baz flew off to the US yesterday to see Marci, but hopefully some of the other missing regulars will return to keep up the numbers. Also a reminder to come back later in the week to catch up on those who, for one reason or another, can't post at the weekend.
Ok, on to this week's theme. Summer is just about over now (except for those in the Southern hemisphere, where it is just starting), but before we say goodbye to it completely, let's see your memories of summer in photographic form. If ,for any reason, you don't have any from this summer, it's ok to use ones from previous years. Also, it's a bonus week.....you can post up to SIX photos. Have fun!!
Some of my summer memories include:
1) Boats on the water......
2) ...........and the 'Birdie Dance'
3) Sleepy days...........
4).........and sleepy goats
5) Fabulous flowers.........
6).........and friends, old and new (yes, that's Baz !!)
a wonderful theme I love it and all your shots--and a wonderful banner cong to Danette
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi :-))
DeleteOnto new adventures on that far horizon.
ReplyDeleteDoing the Hustle.
Serene.
Mitch is one of those Men Who Watch Goats.
Magnificent flower
On site and in position.
LOL. Not only watching the goat, but also stepping carefully over it so that I didn't wake it up!!
DeleteGreat theme, Mitch.
ReplyDeleteLove the boats. I wonder if they meant "Owe Much"? you know, like the "laugh if you want but it's paid for" bumper stickers.
The "Birdie dance" is wonderful!
"Sleepy Days" looks a lot like our lake at Prospect Park. The clouds are so beautiful.
I've never caught a goat sleeping! He/it must have been VERY relaxed or very tired.
Gorgeous flower. I love the colors!
Nice shot of our buddy Baz, putting his "all" into his shot.
Thanks Debby :-)) Not sure about the name of the boat. I took to be 'Ow much?' ....an exclamation as to the cost of the boat. I could be totally wrong though.
DeleteIt was a really hot day when I photographed the goat. Most of the animals in that park were snoozing in the heat.
Lovely photos Mitch, especially the big critter taking a photo of a little critter. Now I know how you do it with the closeups. Not the sort of thing for a golden oldie like me, I would never be able to stand up afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that Facebook is killing Blogger with photographic sites. A shame really. I much prefer it here, more personal and I find the quality of the reproductions much better. It seems to me that photo sites are springing up like mushrooms in FB at the moment. I belong to Baz group and yours, but that is all and enough.
Thanks Pat :-)) Yes, I tend to get into positions like that when taking shots, too. I always pay for it after a photo-expedition though, as my knees usually cease up!!
DeleteHi, Mitch, great shots! My husband would think the first just dandy and I do too. My favorite is the gull dance and also Baz showing us how it is done with his subject. (Perhaps a penhen?)
ReplyDeleteThanks Benni :-)) The gull shot was more luck than judgment, as he started to do his side-ways shuffle just as I took the shot :-))
DeleteYes, that's a peahen that Baz is photographing. Just after I took this shot it walked right up to him and stared into the lens. Was so funny :-))
Awesome shots, Mitch! I like the variety and the quality of each and every shot. Very cute that single birdie dance... Very beautiful the tranquility of the sleepy days and cool shot of Baz...
ReplyDeleteThanks Belita :-))
Deletehi mitch all lovely shots.I love the one of Baz and I wish I could shoot like that. doing it I should need firemen to help me get up . lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Nico :-)) Yes, I have trouble getting up from those kinds of positions, too!! LOL.
DeleteHi Mitch, I like all of your images. I loved the cleverness of the boat's name "Ow Much". The owner must have a loan to pay for the boat. The image of the dancing bird is great. The next image of the pond or lake really conveys peacefulness. One could nap there by the banks. Is that goat alive or sleeping? Beautiful flower. Nice candid shot of Baz.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robert :-)) The goat was fast asleep. It was a really hot day, and all the goats and other livestock ware taking a siesta :-))
DeleteThat Goose Shot was pretty Cool...
