Congratulations, Danette! As I think you know, I love your seascape shots....
These are some of my memories of last summer. All photos were taken in Portugal
A weekend spent in the south of Portugal
It was so hot that the shopping area showed 'shadings' similarly to those ones we can see when we walk through souks.
Lovely all so lovely
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heidi!
DeleteHi Belita!! You've posted some wonderful shots for this week's theme. Love that first shot, the woman has such a lovely smile. Your dragonfly shot is excellent!! Perfect detail and colour!! I don't know how common those goats are either, but they certainly seem interested in the person taking the photo!! LOL. The thing in the fourth photo appears to be the husk of a Physalis (also known as Cape Gooseberry). Really nice place in the fifth shot. Is it a hotel or a villa? Yes, those shades in the last shot remind me of the souks in several Moroccan cities.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mitch, for your kind comments. Thanks for teaching me that's the husk of Cape Gooseberry. I have googled and learned that in Portugal it's called Physalis Peruviana and its cultivation is very recent in the country. That's not a hotel but a small villa, like many others you see in the Algarve.
DeleteBeautiful woman. Exquisite shot of the dragonfly. Goats who stare at men (not starring George Clooney).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bulb, palace and canopy.
Thanks, Anders!
Deleteall lovely and colourful shots, ciao
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nico!
DeleteI love the goats! I love how you have captured them. The brownish seed pod is what we call a Japanese lantern, they start green, turn orange, and then dry out. That is a magnificent picture of one.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Benni. I found those goats very interesting as they looked very quiet and not wild. Japanese lantern is a good metaphor...
DeleteLovely lady in your first shot, Belita. She has beautiful eyes!
ReplyDeleteYour dragonfly shot, I think, is the best I've ever seen. All the more unusual because of the barbed wire.
The seed pod is similar to the Golden Rain tree. Great shot. I love all the intricate veins running through it. Nature is amazing in and of itself.
That's a very pretty weekend retreat. Is that a chimney there to the left, a barbeque grill?
The awnings are lovely and romantic. There's an "old world" feel to this photo. Pretty yellow/orange roof tiles, too. I also LOVE the small balcony on the left. Soooo pretty!
Thanks, Deb, for your comments. You're right... that's a typical-chimney-shaped barbecue grill. I took the last photo at the end of the day, and perhaps the golden light gives such a feel...
DeleteVery interesting photos. Love the goats, really something unique.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat!
DeleteOh, I forgot to mention that I love the goat pic, too! I'm a Capricorn! ; )
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb! It was very kind of you to have come back and drop a comment on the goats pic. Oh... you're a Capricorn! If so, both of us are earthy....
DeleteHi Belita. The woman in the Renaissance costume has a wonderful smile. Beautiful shot of the dragonfly. The goats seem to just be there and pose. What a great resort to spend a weekend. Nice photo of the shadings for the shopping area. The sun and heat can be unbearable.
