Congratulations to Benni for the great banner photo
Here is a photo from the town of Solothurn, just a kilometer along the main road. I happened to be in town when they were cutting the trees.
In our village, just a walk from where I live. We have more cows than people living in this place.
The local train known as "Bipper Lisi" passing through our village and we are waiting at the barrier
Hi Pat, very nice shots. Your first one is quite interesting to me with the man and all the wispy tree branches. Your second one is fabulous with the cows in the foreground and a hint of the mountains far away. And what I wouldn't give for a little train that went through every so often. Nice perspective and good thinking to always have your camera.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat!! Great shots for Heidi's theme. I like that first shot, the many many little branches almost look like a web. Lovely pastoral shot in the second photo. I notice all the cows are lying down.....was there bad weather on the way? The local train certainly looks all clean and modern.
ReplyDeleteI like your three shots Pat! Do they cut the trees to enable houses getting more natural light inside? In Portugal, they do it for that purpose. Very Swiss-scape in the second shot which I really love and the red of the Swiss train beautifully contrasts with the green of the valleys....
ReplyDeletewonderful thanks for showing us around Pat
ReplyDeleteggod morning Pat, sorry for England football team I'm sure they'll beat Uruguay and costarica and go further in the championship. Your three pics are so Swiss that I couldn't make a mistake to guess where they were shot not knowing that you live in Swiss. The second one is my fav
ReplyDeleteIt's ok Nico. Have no problem with the football. I am actually a Swiss supporter more than english and the azzurri were always a good team.
DeleteI love the old gnarled tree in the first shot. It's amazing! Do you have a pic of it in full leaf?
ReplyDeleteDo the cows lie down there when they are expecting a storm there? nice shot?
What a cute name for the train! It sounds romantic. What does it mean? I love that bright red color! it made me think of a kid I knew when I was a teenager. He drove a hot red sportscar and we called him "The Red Streak". I think I would call your train that if I lived there. :)
Bipper Lisi because the end station is Niederbipp and Lisi would be a shortened version of Elisabeth, just a name for a train. I do not know the cow time table, but they often have a lay down, I think more in the evening.
