Many thanks to Anders for hosting this week. A really good theme, with lots of possibilities. Most of my stone/rock photos are on the large scale, but I did find one on a smaller, more personal, scale.
1) A rather large rock from space created this large hole in the ground in Arizona!!
2) Grand Canyon, a place with more rocks and stones than many others!!!
3) Montezuma's Castle, a Hopi settlement built high up in the rocks.
4) On a smaller scale, I saw this sad stone memorial to a young child in Corfe village, Dorset, England.
Mitch these are all wonderful
ReplyDeletebeen to the grand canyon and the hi village all really grand the little angel is sweet and sad
Indeed that was a huge rock that hit.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
Amazing
Beautiful and melancholy
Very impressive photos of places I have never seen. Everything is on such a smaller scale in Europe. That was some hole in the ground, good job no-one was watching when it happened. We have a few high mountain settlements in Switerland, but mini sized in comparison. Love the angel, real graveyard architecture.
ReplyDeleteHi Mitch, love your pictures and the one of the Hopi dwelling is a stunner!! Can you imagine what it must have been like to get into those cliff hangers each night? Wonderful colors and magnificent sky contrast.
