I see great minds think alike Mitch. I also prefer portraits in b/w, so here are mine.
This is a groups of street musicians I saw in Solothurn
I took this on one of my visits to London, in East Ham market, London. It seems one of the policemen had just done his shopping and the other was filling him in on what had happened in the meanwhile
My dad on his 90th birthday celebrations in a restaurant. What more can I say? This year he celebrated his 98th birthday.
Love the entries. Each unique and each tells its own story.
ReplyDeletegreat Pat love them all especially the one of your dad <3
ReplyDeleteHi Pat !! Three wonderful B&W candids for the theme. Great shot of the street-musicians, they look rather cold!! Had to smile at the one of the policemen. I'm sure one is saying to the other "Didn't I tell you not to forget the doughnuts?" LOL. Nice shot of your dad, looks like he couldn't decide what to have.
ReplyDeletePat, marvelous pictures. The band looks cold and how interesting that the word "frozen" appears in the picture. The police make a great candid and that is a magnificent portrait of your father. B/W is perfect for that one especially.
ReplyDelete"How many coins can we earn at this gig..."
ReplyDelete"I got a Mooing Milly to little Nell, a Robustus action figure for Steve and a lingerie set for my wife."
and he is stil going strong :)
Wonderful captures as always Pat I love the shot of your Dad;)
ReplyDeletehi baz what a dad you've got, congrats. love the other pics too. the policemanwith a plastic bag had bought cinnamon doughnuts and the other was lecturing him about the damage of junk food, lol
ReplyDeletesorry I wrote baz instead of pat could you ever forgive me?
ReplyDeleteExcellent shots, Pat!. Was that group going to make a performance in the evening and were they like making the program announcement more vivid? If that was true, very clever initiative. I like the attitude of the policeman on the right. Last but not least, the photo of your dad is fabulous... my favourite!
ReplyDeleteOur street musicians are just that. They mostly belong to other countries and earn a few francs on the streets playing their music. Some are quite good. We have quite a few various groups around.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I find your black and white photos great for this theme. The capture of the musicians is wonderfully done. It seems that one of the guitarists noticed you. The photo of the police officers is a good candid shot. I like the expression of the officer on the right with his pointed finger.
ReplyDeleteThe portrait of your Dad is the best. It's my favorite.
