Picture This #229 ~ Curves

Many thanks to Joanne for hosting this week's challenge. She has chosen a great theme, with many possibilities. Was hard to narrow my selection down to just three!!! LOL.

1) The twisting curves of the Montu rollercoaster, Busch Gardens, Florida.

2) The gentle curve of the Hibiscus heart.

3) The graceful curves of the Great Egret's neck

  1. Three terrific examples of curves. Love the thrilling one of the rollercoaster. The amazing flower shot and the majestic curve of the bird's neck.

  4. Mitch, it is a good thing you said something, I would have missed three amazing shots. Lovely curve of the roller coaster; I see people are upside down so now we know that is a ride I will never go on. I love your macro of the hibiscus. The contrast of the delicate pink and bright yellow is stunning. My absolute favorite is the egret with the water like satin behind it. They are amazing birds and you have captured it in a rare moment of stillness. The curves of its neck are indeed graceful, they are also quite lovely. Like Pat said, perfect!

    1. Thanks Benni :-)) I love rollercoasters, the bigger and faster the better!! I don't get much chance to photograph Hibiscus here in the UK, this one was taken in Florida. The necks of the Egret fascinate me, they are so incredibly articulated!!

  7. Three excellent shots, as always! Mitch, I love all the curves in the three photos but the graceful curves of the Great Egret's neck are so beautiful that I almost feel jealous of his neck...

  8. Yikes! Those people are upside down! fantastic shot, Mitch! That's some curve. Reminds me of the Superman ride at 6 Flags. I LOVE coasters! Did you ride this one?

The Hibiscus is so pretty. Such a delicate pink. The ones I grew in GA were always a dusky purple. This one looks exotic! Wonderful detail.

That last one is amazing. I've never seen one crook it's neck like that!

    1. Thanks Debby :-)) Yes, I did ride that coaster. I'm a rollercoaster fanatic, I never miss an opportunity to go on one!! The Hibiscus I photographed in Florida, there seemed to be a lot of this variety down there. I've seen Egrets do this quite a few times. In this shot he was starting to straighten his neck out, it had previously been in a really tight 'S' shape.
