2013 - A new year, Fresh and Bold
Hi, this is Benni, your host for this first Picture This of the New Year. Well, kinda, 2013 doesn't come until Tuesday, but aren't we all ready for "Out with the old, in with the new"? That being said. . .
Fresh as a spring flower, kissed by dew
The inside of the Capitol Dome in Michigan, US.
I hope you enjoy these pictures and I look forward to seeing yours.
Hi Benni !! Many thanks for stepping in as host at such short notice, was very kind of you to offer.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme, and I really like all your photos. I'm not a big fan of snow (or rather being out in it), but it makes for a beautiful photo. That's a wonderful Spring dew scene in the second shot. Fabulous shot of the Capitol Dome, it's really beautiful.
I am not a big fan of snow either. I am glad you like my pictures, though. Thanks.
DeleteWow, great theme Benni, did you know yellow is the colour for happiness? lovely flower indeed. Your photos are lovely and I too am a firm believer of, 'out with the old, in with the new.'
ReplyDeleteYellow has always been my favorite color and I shamelessly steal these rare yellow violets from my neighbors back lot and plant them in mine.
DeleteWONDERFUL WONDERFUL ALL OF THEM
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteI like your choice of theme, Benni! I like your tree photos more than the theme. They are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely day, when the snow fell, Belita. And we got a day off work to boot! So glad you like the theme and pics.
DeleteThe snow looks familiar, must be related to our Swiss snow, but a wonderful capture, really looks fresh. The water drops on the flower are a great capture and a lovely view of the dome. Interesting dome.
ReplyDeleteIt was a rare heavy snow so it stuck to every branch and twig. Thank you for your kind words.
DeleteFirst shot looks very much the scene outside my window right now.
ReplyDeleteI like how clear you captured the drops in the second photo.
The light comes through the window in the third, makes all those fresco paintings shine! Very nice.
I was wondering if those were frescos. The building is relatively young (late 1800's) so they may not be frescos, but I would like to think they are.
DeleteThe first two are postcard perfect. Magnificent ceiling.
ReplyDeleteI love that building! It is rare to get such architecture over here. Thank you.
DeleteWhat a wonderful theme you chose this week, Benni. All of your photos are terrific, but the last is absolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am feeling uncommonly optimistic this week, and I am so happy to see so many great pictures.
DeleteI love your theme Benni.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos all three but I must admit that the dome is truly magnificent!
Well Done.
This is a great theme for the new year. Your photos exemplify fresh and bold all in there unique way...what an awesome variety too. The bottom one is my favorite I think (hard to choose)!
