Hi folks, Mitch here. Sorry I'm late posting this week's challenge. I totally forgot to ask for a volunteer to guest host!! So you're stuck with me for a second week in a row, I've had to think up a theme in a hurry!!
As we are well into winter now (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), and the temperatures are dropping rapidly, I've decided a good theme would be COLD. So, lets see your photos of frost, snow, ice.....anything that's cold. Even those of you who live in warmer climates must have one or two. If not, how about ice-cubes in a drink or even frozen veg out of the freezer!!! LOL.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE RULES
There are really only two rules that are important to stick to: sizing and uploading of images. While everyone did great on the first challenge with the sizing of your images, some of you are STILL uploading your photos directly from your puters to the PT site. Can I remind you that Blogger has an upload limit, and not a very generous one, so PLEASE PLEASE copy/paste HTML from a photo-hosting site such as Flickr or Photobucket, DO NOT upload directly to the PT site. Many thanks.
Here are my three COLD shots:
1) COLD SNAP
2) Green Ice
3) Lavender Frost
Hi Mitch these are wonderful sharp captures, its cold here as well but the frost was all gone before I came on line I will try and get some shots over the weekend;)
ReplyDeleteHi Baz, nice to see you on the new PT site. There's no 'hard & fast' rule about the photos being new. Only one of my three were taken today, the other two are older ones. I'll look forward to your entry :-))
DeleteVery nice shot Mitch, LIke the theme too. I did load mine onto the Picture this site direct. I could not get Blogger to allow me to post the URl. Even after I had allowed the two sights to be connected. SO I have a little more work to do on figuring it out, I guess.. Will try and figure out what is going on with it this weekend before i try to upload again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being host. Once I get this all figured out I will jump in for one of the weekends coming up if that works with you and the schedule.
Hi Randall. Ahhh, I think I understand what you were getting at in your e-mail a few days ago.
DeleteOn the 'create new post' page, make sure you click on 'compose' first, then write in any text you want. Then click on 'HTML' and copy/paste the HTML from Flickr (Not the URL, the HTML), then click 'compose' again to see the photo positioned. Then repeat those steps for each additional photo. Just in case you don't come back to read this, I'll mail it to you as well.
HI Mitch, was going to send you a text as very quiet, but got busy in office ........*grins* ....wondered what was going on, but myself not with it, what with dates and times and being off line for 10 days
ReplyDeleteCool today and rainy......... I do have some cold pictures, but just wondered , are we going to do a picture of the month here and change headers, how do we do a poll?? Totally forgot about that side of things, I do think I might have been expected to fix that up last week ????????? Nominations, poll ??? *cough* ooooooooooopsie daisy ????
Hi Marianne. Dig out your 'cold' photos, I know you have some :-))
DeleteHaven't figured out yet how we are going to do the 'photo of the month'. Need to find a way to make it work. I'll get back to you on that.
mmmhhhmm, let's ask Belita to help us??? She is good with challenges and polls!!!!!!
DeleteLove those icy photos, looks like sugar icing on the plants. Will have to dig into the archives, no icy stuff yet, only in the early morning hours, and I am not really sure what they look like. The cold snap is really what it says. My lavender is still nice and green. Just had an idea for a photo. See you around
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. I got the shot of the frost on the lavender just in time. A minute later the frost had melted. I took that one today. The other two are older shots from my archive.
DeleteGreat theme, magnificent photos. The ice crystals look a bit like sugar crystals, my favorite is the middle, so sharp and soooo cold. Oh, I see Pat also thinks they look like sugar. Great minds....
ReplyDeleteThanks Benni. I hope we'll be seeing some cold shots from you?? :-))
DeleteTerrific theme, Love the photos. Love the detail of the crystals.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anders!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, I'm happy you like the new site :-))
Deleteps ps , am so totally rude, forgot to compliment you on choice of theme and examples........ I loooooooooove the frozen Lavender , the details are amazing, but all great macro shots (of which I am useless)
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne. My fave is the first one, I was really pleased with how every single ice crystal is clearly visible.
DeleteLove all the sharp details in these photos. Very nice captures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda :-))
DeleteGreat Theme Mitch~!! Thanks Mitch~!!
ReplyDeleteI Love all Your "Cold" Shots. Lovely Green Ice and the Lavender Frost, Neat~!!
We very seldom have a cold snap here.
Today is a Sunny Day in Tennessee, 70 degrees, But, Very Windy.
We don't see much Ice and Snow here like we use to, But, I did find some shots from a few years back, when it did snow.
THanks Joy. Doesn't matter when they were taken ,as long as you have some :-))
DeleteI love your theme and those posts that have come along after but to be honest it's Summer here and our Winter is mild compared to everything I am seeing, so I will settle back and just look at the fabulous posts being presented including yours Mitch.
ReplyDeleteOK, thanks Milli, hope to see you joining in on the next theme :-))
Deletehi mitch I'm lost. I can't remember how to post my pics here. I know I already did it, but my poor old brains are almost completely rusty and I can't find the way to get the place. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP, PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteHi Nico, I have sent you an e-mail to remind you how to post here!!
DeleteA difficult subject for me! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your frosty macro shots (poor lavender)! The top one is my favorite though...
Thanks Danette. I see you found some shots for the theme :-))
DeleteI didn't have the time last week to comment on all the entries before my internet problems began, but I had seen them all. I just wanted to tell you I was immediately attracted by the first one... simple but 10/10!! :)
