Many thanks to Debby for hosting this week's challenge. This should be an interesting one!! Although I've taken a lot of candid people shots, most of them are individuals. I did manage to find some of couples, and decided to mix in some non-human couples for variety!!
1) This couple show the typically British tourist trait......no matter if the weather is cold and windy....let's have an ice-cream!!
2) This Prairie-dog couple seem to be discussing the best location to dig their next hole!!
3) This one always makes me smile. I imagine she is saying something important, while he is wondering if he can get home in time for the start of the football game. LOL.
4) This pair of Ringed Teal are showing togetherness, bird-style.
Wonderful shot
ReplyDelete"That fellow is here again - get ready to grin."
"Did you hear that George got caught stealing knickers in lingerie shopt - AGAIN!"
"Don't we have the best of lives, dear."
I don't think the prairie-dogs were impressed with having their photo taken....when I returned to see them about three months later, they stayed hidden in their hole the entire time. LOL.
DeleteThe first is so typically seaside british - love it. I really think those prairie dogs are having conversation about the bloke with the camera probably. and the ringed teal is a super capture. the grey haired golden oldies could be me and Mr. Swiss having an intellectual discussion.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :-)) Yes, those prairie-dogs do appear to be in discussion about something. As far as the golden-oldies go......I think she was doing all the talking, he just seemed lost in a world of his own!!! LOL.
DeleteBeautiful couples, Mitch! That's a great capture of the couple eating ice cream. I never knew that about the British, but I know Haagen-Dazs in Park Slope stays busy all winter long. I wonder how many British people live here or recently relocated here, that would explain it!
ReplyDeleteI love the prairie dogs! So adorable!
I love your interpretation of the older couple, so funny!!! They're practically wearing matching jackets. Isn't that sweet???
The ringed teal is my favorite, I think.
Thanks Debby :-)) Yes, it's a typical British tourist trait. We're so used to getting miserable weather when holidaying in the UK, that we've developed this determination to act like it's hot and sunny all the time, even if it means sitting out in the cold and the wind, yes even the rain, having picnics, eating chips or having an ice-cream LOL.
DeleteGreat shots of the people and animals. I have actually noticed the British ice cream trait from friends of mine posting pictures from their holidays eating ice cream in all conditions. I love the second one: she is passionate and he is either giving her words careful consideration or wondering if Liverpool can hold off Swansea. The prairie dogs and unbelievably cute, and the ringed teal are just marvelous in their detail.
ReplyDeleteThanks Benni :-)) It's not just ice-cream with we British.....it can also be other things....chips, sandwiches, even entire picnics!!
DeleteAs for the second couple, I'd put my money on him thinking about the football :-))
Hi Mitch! Two beautiful candid shots, both of which portray very common attitudes, yet you captured them in such a way that they turned up uncommonly wonderful... Of course, I also like the Prairie-dog couple and the pair of Ringed Teal, as well...
ReplyDeleteThanks Belita :-))
Deletehi Mitch it seems ages since you heard from me but here I am again. Lovely shots. my fav is the last one
ReplyDeleteHi Nico!! It's great to see you here in Picture This again!! Thanks :-))
