PICTURE THIS #206 ~ CITY, TOWN OR COUNTRY SIDE

Nice theme, Benni, well done, nicely attended too.
Congratulations to Pat for her lovely Green banner

Apologies for again being later,

seems as if Friday afternoons are better for me for playing and posting pictures.

I am sure you all know me well enough to know that........

I hate crowds, noise and bustling despite growing up in Copenhagen.

Lived and worked in Johannesburg  for years too, but maybe it is old age,

as I find these days,

I simply don't like cities at all, can just cope with town life,

but rather let me out in the country, peace and quiet and spaces for ever.

  2. Hi Marianne!! Better late than never, I guess!! Although earlier would be better :-))

Great shot of Cape Town. Where was the shot taken? Table Mountain? Lovely little town and village. In the shot of the village....is that little tin shed with the pipe on it the dunny? Nice green countryside in the last shot.

    1. What's wrong with late? Much more fun to be the last one in, then I can gape at all the entries and get ideas during the week. Far too busy outside on weekends to sit and post pictures. Time consuming when having to edit, resize and then post to Flickr and then only upload.

I suspect it is the loo, yes, had no idea firstly what you meant LOL

  5. Hi, Marianne! I am like you, I can only take the city for a short period, too noisy and crowded. (Great food though.) Anyway, I love your shot of Cape Town. I had no idea it was so big. Stunning with the mountains in the background. The small town of Pilgrim's Rest is more my speed, and you did a nice job of capturing it with the pink flowered tree. What an interesting round building in Kwa-Zulu Natal. And what lovely peace you have brought to us with the countryside with the white fence that would be at home there and here as well. Thanks for posting, I was very much looking forward to your shots.

    1. Hi Benni, I was looking for some shopping center shots or something interesting from my town, but ran out of time and the weather has been really crummy, grey and cold, so ran out of time. Happy you enjoyed the ones, I dug out though

  6. Marianne, I love the shot of Cape Town. Pilgrim's Rest is idyllic. I love the tree in bloom. Your images of South Africa dispel any preconceived ideas that the continent is all rainforest. They are all lovely pictures.

    1. Hi Robert, we have very little rain forest in South Africa, only a bit left around Knysna area. You will mostly find rainforest up in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda area. Closer to the Equator. There is a lovely bit of rainforest too in Zimbabwe and close to Victoria Falls too.
