Cemeteries are lovely places, particularly older ones. These pictures are all from a cemetery in a small city not too far from me. It has graves from 1860 to the present day.
Polished black marble with magnolia blossom
A small chapel
Late afternoon
Hi Benni !! I like your three shots for Joanne's theme, taking a slightly different look at the cemetery. Beautiful magnolia in front of the marble headstone. Unusual cupola in the chapel in the second shot, leads me to think it might have European origins. The last shot looks very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mitch. I don't know the history of the chapel, but there are many Hungarian Catholics in the city. Glad you like the pictures.
DeleteSuch a lovely peaceful feel to all three of your photos, Benni. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby, I feel peaceful when I go there.
DeleteLove the shot of the flower, and the trees look so tall in the cemetery.
ReplyDeleteRandall, thank you. Many of the trees are very old and carefully tended.
DeleteBeautiful flower and spire of the chapel. Serene.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anders. I think you would enjoy walking around there.
Delete>You're welcome, Benni. I think so too. :)
Delete3 lovely shots showing the nature side of the cemetery. I love them all, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat. I had not thought of it, but you are right, I am really focused in these photos on the plants and greenery.
Deletehi benni, cool pics. ciao
ReplyDeleteGrazie, Nico. It is a beautiful place.
DeleteI love the mature trees in the last one and the steeple in the middle and the back lighting in Japanese magnolia in the last.
ReplyDeleteHow kind, Danette, thank you. I love those trees.
DeleteHi Benni, just a quick note....I think you missed commenting on Danette's entry.
DeleteI love the magnolia against the black marble, Benni, but your last is my favorite. I just find cemetaries so peaceful and serene (does that make me weird?).
ReplyDeleteI want to apologize for being so late in commenting. I didn't realize how quickly the time went.
Thank you, Joanne. Cemeteries can evoke so many emotions. I don't think you are weird to enjoy exploring and wandering through them. This was a truly creative theme.
DeleteI must say I like your take on this theme the best of them all Benni.
ReplyDeleteHow very kind of you. I am so glad you enjoyed the pictures.
