Good Morning, Belita. You have a lovely view and we have seen so much of your neighbourhood, over the years, feel as if we lived there or walked there with you. I simply love that recycling bin. So much prettier than ours! Hhhhmmmm, here is an idea, maybe get hold of some of the local artists and redecorate them? Better ask the authorities first I suppose. Have a wonderful Sunday, my friend. Hugs.
Good to read your words, Marianne! Lisbon local government launched last year that project by asking several artists to paint the recycle bins that are seen in all city districts. Some are more cute than others, yet all have something that brings attention to them as inevitable objects in the streets. Whenever I pass by one of these, I always take a photo. Some day, I'll post about recycling and will illustrate with the photos I have in my Recycle Bins folder.
That is so very interesting and such a good idea. We have fantastic artists here, maybe something to suggest to Johannesburg Municipality? Make our world a prettier place, could do with prettying up the rubbish bins too. It all looks so ugly, even when they do get empties which seems not to be often.
You certainly have variety surrounding you. Even the roundabout is nice and clean and organised. Lovely variety of plants on your walk and even the recycling containers are very photographic.
You're right, Pat! It was not easy to select three photos. Most probably, they are not the best but I didn't want to post photos of the monuments that most of you have already seen.
Hi Belita!! Three great shot's for Heidi's theme!! You have a great view from your window!! I guess you live in a high-rise block, just like Nico? Beautiful gardens in the second shot, a lovely place to go for a walk. Even your recycling bins are interesting!! All we have here are a plain single colour, each colour denotes what goes in the bin.
Thanks, Mitch, for your comment! For good or for bad, I don't know, I live on the 8th floor of a 12-story appartment block, on the top of a hill. This fact gives me a nice view over the river mouth and the ocean. We also have recycling bins like the ones you describe, but these are seen mostly outside supermarkets, etc.
I love your photos. What a great view from your window.Indeed, Lisbon is a beautiful city. I love the shot with the wisteria on the left side of the image. What a clever thing to design recycle bins to be attractive.
I see you live quite high up. A nice enough view from your window, well thought out. Love the colours in the second one and what a good idea for the third one. . I wish the powers that be here would get as creative.
Nice to see what you see from your home. The second picture is so alive with color and places where this curious woman might roam. I very much like the idea of a creative recycle bin. In my Florida home we have recycling but not so much in the US midwest, to my sadness.
I love this theme! You have a beautiful view of your neighborhood, Belita! I love the shot of the wisteria against the wall and the cactus and agave that you see on your walks.
The recycling bin is so cool! Have you had the opportunity to photograph any of the others?
They all look very familiar to me. :)
ReplyDeleteA very nice neighborhood you have. Belita
Thanks, Sophie... you know it well..

Wonderful piece of art.
I took the first photo, yesterday in the morning. I live in a quiet residential area, where there are many mansions with beautiful gardens.
