The Great Parade on Eastern Parkway,Brooklyn, NY ~ themed on Jewish unity and pride. This parade was a couple of blocks down the street where I live. I call the Jewish men there "Black Hats". They are the largest Hasidic Jewish community in the world.
Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Debby!! You only just made it in under the wire for this week's theme!! LOL. Three great shots, looks like a really big parade.. There was a large party of Hasidic Jews on my flight from London to Newark a few weeks ago. The middle shot was interesting, I've never seen one with red hair before.
ReplyDeleteWhen I said there was party of them on my flight, I meant to say....I wonder if they were heading for this event. When was it held?
DeleteHi Mitch! lol...under the wire. Yup, I'm a procrastinator! I had these pics picked out for quite a few days and just didn't get around to posting them. A busy week. I still have some catching up to do on comments from the Faces theme. I'll get around to everybody sooner or later.
Delete"The Great Parade" was April 28th.
Wonderful trio of shots.
ReplyDeleteI like your three photos, Deb! The second one is my favourite for his eyes and hair and beard colour. In Poland, I saw some Jewish whose hair colour was quite similar... Interesting parade... interesting photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of an event. I like the expression of the man in the middle photograph. You had to be discreet to get that candid shot. Kudos to you!!
ReplyDeleteDeb love all these thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI nearly missed this one, but this is a wonderful group of photos. So something different, although I grew up in a jewish quarter of London. You have really caught the tradition and atmosphere.
