Water is one of my favorite things to photograph so you know I loved this theme.
One of the last pictures I took before leaving Florida this year.
These fishermen inadvertently hooked a swimming pelican. Gently they captured it, worked out the hook, and released it. After a bit, it flew away.
It rained one night and in the morning the rain drops on the screened-in porch acted like prisms whose multi-colored light I tried to capture.
water is one of my favorites too
ReplyDeleteyou have two cool things going on in the top one
so glad the fishermen took care of the pelican (what a story to tell with this picture)
the last one is my favorite, what an awesome effect and I can see the colors!
Hi Benni !! Love your three entries for Danette's theme!! The first shot is wonderful, like the pelican is flying over a million sparkling diamonds, which then seem to have followed you back and landed on the roof of the porch!! It's so good to see caring fishermen helping unhook the pelican.
ReplyDeleteLovely images of Florida to take back with you .... until next season, I assume (?). We are still here but nearly alone in our RV resort! Heading to Oregon soon.
ReplyDeleteA peaceful day at sea.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the fishermen
Cool rainy photo
The first is wonderful. The water just sparkles and the scene is perfect. The capture of the fishers with the pelican is very good and the shot with the raindrops just unique.
ReplyDeletewonderful wonderful
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot of the sailboat and the pelican. I love the sparkling water!
ReplyDeletePoor Pelican. I'm so glad they were gentle with the bird. What an interesting capture. This would make a great post for the local paper, Benni.
Pretty raindrops!
hi benni, love the theme you chose. water is one of the element I like to use to get reflections everywhere. love your pics, the second one is the one I prefer
ReplyDeleteGreat moment you had captured in the first photo!
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what made you looking up at the last shot? was it the sound of the rain? :)
Many thanks to everyone! Yes, sometimes the sea is like diamonds with the late sun on it. Very lyrical, Mitch. I am so glad you all like the fisherman picture - pelicans can weigh 40 pounds and are very strong so the men's actions were commendable. To answer Sophie's question, I took that picture on one of our first days in the rental. It had been raining all night, but stopped and we decided to have coffee on the porch. I saw the lights as soon as I stepped out and thought I would have more time and more days to capture the effect. But, alas, it faded in minutes and over 2 years I never saw it again.
ReplyDeleteThree fantastic takes on the theme, Benni! The first for the right moment of the capture....the second for the significance it has.. the third for its originality...
ReplyDeleteThank you once again, Belita. I am getting bolder in getting people in my pictures thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteThree wonderful captures Benni Beautiful shots;)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the care in freeing the bird hook. I love that shot of the screen and all the water drops. All nice work. Thank you
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Benni and you did manage to get all of the many colours of the rain drops.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Barry, Randall and Shayna.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the first one, Benni. It is magnificent, portraying the sun, heat and water, giving it that holiday feel. Lovely capture
