Picture This #199 ~ Spring

First off, congrats to Robert and his amazing Picture of the Week. A well-deserved honor. And thanks to Heidi for this wonderful theme. Here in the midwest US, Spring explodes onto us after 5 or 6 months of snow and cold.

A bee covered with pollen about to take off.

I would like to live here, in a nest in an apple tree in full bloom.

A trillium, an endangered wildflower, transplanted by me from a lot about to be bulldozed.

A quick note to all Picture This friends: I am about to be able to purchase a new camera. Yay after so many years (10) of using my sturdy little Canon. Is it possible to get one camera that will take both macro shots and also landscapes? Not too big; my hands are small. I can learn tech relatively quickly.  I may be able to spend as much as $800/£520 but obviously would prefer less. I want something more than point and shoot as this is a very special (and rare) purchase. I am asking for recommendations; you can email me at bennettjones3@gmail. Thank you so much.

  1. 3 beautiful shots. The light effects in the first and third are just perfect and your apple tree is a hit.

  2. Splendid photos, Benni. The Trillium is my favorite.

I love the delicacy of the bee and blossom, and the nest in the apple tree is lovely, too.

  3. Hi Benni !! Three super shots for Heidi's theme. Fabulous shot of the pollen-covered bee on the crocus. Great shot of the nest in the apple-tree. I think I can see a little birdie face peering out. Beautiful Trillium. You caught the light on it perfectly.

  11. Benni, these are beautiful shots. I love the shot of the bee covered with pollen. The light on the trillium is well captured. And the bird's nest makes it what spring is all about.
