Picture This #206 ~ City, Town, or Countryside

I went through my folders to find these photos. There's only a couple of decent photos of my town. I included only one  in here.

Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA

This is vineyard is in our town. The east side of our town is considered rural.

    Hi Robert !! Three really nice photos for the theme :-)) Good shot of the Philadelphia skyline. I love the shot of Commercial Street, looks very quaint and friendly. Was there some sort of international festival going on? The flags in the foreground appear to be the national flag of Portugal, and I can see other nations further down the street. Lovely final shot. In all my travels, I've never visited a vineyard (surprisingly!!).

    Thank you Mitch. Portuguese fishermen immigrated to this town years ago. I don't know if there's still fishing industry here but the Portuguese community is still there. The photo was taken at the end of June. June 30th is the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul. St. Peter is the patron saint of fishermen. I'm guessing that is why the Portuguese flags were displayed.
    The vineyard is on top of a hill so the views from it are marvelous.

    Wonderful shots, Robert, I really like them! The skyline photo is nice, I love the soft blues and grays of the sky and buildings. Your Provincetown picture is wonderful along with your explanation. We used to visit New England often and many of the towns have ethnic communities that add to their richness. And what a marvelous view from the vineyard. Forgive my very late comments. I am so glad I checked this morning. What great contributions!

    Hi Benni, thank you for your comments. I did enjoy viewing Philadelphia from this vantage point. Provincetown is unique in many ways. It's definitely a town that celebrates diversity. It seems improbable that there's a vineyard in our town because where I live it's so suburban.
