Happy New Year everyone!!!
Many thanks to Belita for hosting the first PT theme of 2014. It's quite a clever little theme......take the initial letters of Happy New Year.......in other words H, N and Y....then post three photos where the subjects start with those letters. A little bit of a challenge there!!
1) Helenium
2) Nene Goose
3) Yellow and Black
Hi Mitch I hope your feeling Better? Three wonderful captures. A whole flower LOL unusual for you, but beautiful LOL;) Great portrait of the duck and my favorite, a beautiful macro, great work;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Baz :-)) Yes, I thought I'd surprise folks with a 'whole flower' shot. LOL. The goose wouldn't be happy at being called a duck, though!! LOL.
DeleteRecovery is slow, but I'm getting there day by day.
Hi Mitch these are wonderful
ReplyDeletehope you are a little better
Thanks Heidi :-))
DeleteHi, Mitch, wow some great shots. Love the helenium, a gorgeous macro. And the nene goose, so beloved of crossword puzzle makers. She looks comfortably drowsy. My favorite is the magnificent yellow jacket, so UNbeloved of me, but here looking beautiful with pane glass wings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Benni :-)) Those Nene sure do like a nap. I think I have more shots of them dozing then I have of them awake!! LOL. That last shot is a Hoverfly, which are harmless.
DeleteHi Mitch! Three wonderful and different captures... Excellent macro of the Helenium flower... very fine and delicate detail... Cool capture of the Nene Goose... I can see a bit of grass still in his beak... Perhaps he had had his meal and was having a nap after it... Yellow and black create a high contrast that's beautiful...
ReplyDeleteThanks Belita :-)) Yes, I think the Nene had just had lunch and was having an afternoon nap.
DeleteHi Mitch, so here I am. I did sort of miss your entry, but as said I am a big on the stressy side at the moment. Lovely yellow flowers, really hits the eye with its brilliant colour. I havn't seen a goos for years, good shot and love your action photo of the wasp.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat :-)) I'm surprised you haven't seen a goose in years. I know you live close to at least one river, do you not get any geese there?
Deleteutterly lovely flower - amazing shot of the goose - incredible macro shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anders :-)) The Hoverfly macro is my fave of the three.
DeleteLove the flowers and the Nene goose. Very good close up of the bee. I find that to be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThanks Randall :-)) The critter in the third shot is a Hoverfly. They look similar to a small bee, but are harmless.
DeleteMitch, those are fantastic macros, all three, but my favorite is the last one!
ReplyDeleteThe Helenium is beautiful and I love the little sleepy duck.
Thanks Debby :-))
