This is one of the first pictures I took with this camera, in a busy meadow.
Our part of Florida has one of the nicest off-the-leash dog beaches. This is Spencer, who has retrieved a frisbee. Dogs can enjoy freedom of movement as long as their owners pick up after them.
Finally, at a different beach, I was surprised to see a group of Amish people. They are a religious sect that have strict laws about participating in modern clothing and technology. Nevertheless, they travel and enjoy going to the sea. There was a younger woman, dressed as these two are, who was swimming. The women in my photo are comparing shells.
Wow Benni, your first shot is an awesome catch.
ReplyDeleteThat beach looks so clean and the pooch sure is enjoying life.
I didn't know there were still people in the Western world who still dressed like that. Very interesting.
Yes, there are groups of Amish and Mennonites (similar beliefs) who dress this way, do not use any machinery and get around in horse-drawn carriages. Nevertheless, they are able, the more liberal sects, to hire buses to take them to holiday spots.
DeleteThree very good captures of movement. The first is awesome! The second... cute! The third ... my favourite!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It took me forever, with the camera perched (I hoped unobtrusively) on my knee to get them without any other people around.
DeleteExcellent shots for the theme.
ReplyDeleteStunning flower with bees.
Good timing the second shot.
The last one is rather unique capture.
That's a great capture of the Amish women. It's a good thing they didn't know that you were photographing them. That's a good composition. I love the bee and your dog with the frisbee.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sophie and Robert. I didn't know I had the second bee in the shot until I got home and downloaded the picture. They are so fast.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased you like the Amish women.
All 3 are nice examples. Really nice capture with the insects and flower
ReplyDeleteall three very good love the Amish women I love people
ReplyDelete"This is my spot. Get lost!"
ReplyDelete"Master, master, look what I found!"
"Last in is a fermented herring."
wow wow your first pic is stunning. congrats benni
ReplyDeleteHi Benni !! Three excellent shots for Lynne's theme. Love the one of the bees, that's my kind of shot. Lovely shot of Spencer with his frisbee. So nice that there are beaches where people can let their pets run free. That third shot must have been a most unexpected bonus!!
ReplyDeleteI love them all but the third is really good. I know of the Amish, but being in Switzerlabnd have never seen a "genuine" amish. That is a very interesting picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nico. As I said, I never saw the second bee, and I was shooting at 1/1000. It came and went so fast.
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your kind comments!
Beautiful shots, Benni. I love the movement of the wings of the bee over the thistle in the first.
ReplyDeleteThe dog beach is a great idea. We have one here at Prospect Park, on a pond. I can't wait for summer to see if our newly acquired Jack Russell will be interested in the water. The one in your photos seems to love it!
Some of the dogs, at first, were reluctant to go in the water due to the waves. But there were enough that peer pressure got them going. I hope your doggie enjoys it. Thank you for your kind words about my pictures.
Deleteoh, I love the last photo, too! The women seem to be in an attitude of prayer.
