PICTURE THIS #192 - GLASS

Thank you once again to Benni, for stretching our brain muscles this weekend with her fabulous theme of GLASS

As earlier said , had to go shoot specially for this, as for me a difficult concept not often accomplished.

1.   A small table with ornaments in front of a window in the one guest room.
The one we call the blue room

Glass - blue

2. I caught a rain spider and as I never kill anything living, though moving
unwanted elements to the plot across the road, put it into a glass bottle, and
left on windowsill, till able to move.
This shot was taken through the bottle , through the window, with the garden
     beyond in a  bookeh effect

Glass - Rainspider

3.  Glass ornaments on a shelf in the grey room.

  1. Hi Marianne!! Three really good (new) shots for the theme!! Love all the glass ornaments set against the light from the window in the first shot. But why do you call it the blue room?? LOL. Excellent shot of that handsome spider, particularly good as it was shot through glass. Another set of lovely glass ornaments in the last shot. I really like the horse.

  2. Marianne, your shots are fantastic. The still life photo in the window is done well. There's no overexpose with the light from the window. Your arrangement of the objects is done well. I like the diffusion of the light around the spider too. Nice image of the glass objects on the shelf as well.

    1. Thank you so much for the praise, Robert. It was an overcast day yesterday so the sun was not bright in the windows.

  3. So happy to see your shots, Marianne!! Your blue bottles against the green foliage outdoors is stunning and so peaceful at the same time. The spider is (eeeeeeek) a good shot. Kind of you not to kill it. I'm so enchanted by your clear glass against a white background, very lovely and so well done. Like Mitchy, I like the horse very much.

    1. thank you Benni, it was fun. I tried the horse on its own, on a wooden table too, but the angles picked up too much shadow, so decided to put it back on the shelf and shoot as it was in the first place.

  5. Very pretty blue ornaments in the guest room, yes I will definitely take that room when I arrive one day. Poor spider, I just pick them up and throw them into the garden, but I am sure he is happy to be the centre of attention in the photo. Lovely glass ornaments on the last photo

    1. Darling Pat, you can have any room you want, you two just come down here for a visit.

If I put the spider back in the garden, they just come back in the next time it rains lol ........ they are totally harmless, but they are so huge they give me shivers. Lizards, smaller spiders, praying mantis is allowed to roam freely, also the moths and other winged creatures, as long as they stay out of my bedroom, when I sleep. We even have a couple of garden snakes and chameleons that we set free in the garden to roam an do what they do best, clean up.

  11. Oh, Dear! All three are so beautiful!
I couldn't move eyes away from the first photo, those green and blue, so nicely stand side by side, with a lightly grey curtain to balance. I just love it.

  12. oh, this first one is just gorgeous. I love the blue glass! My mother went through a blue phase for about ten years, so this naturally makes me think of her. She would love this.

Love the glass objects in the last shot, too. I had quite a collection of glass at home, most of it emerald colored.

My favorite is the spider in the jar. Fantastic shot! Love the colors and the the great bokeh effect.I had never heard of a rain spider. I see on wiki that they are also called lizard eating spiders. Yikes! Is the one you caught very big?
