Picture This #476 ~ Birds

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. A good theme, which I enjoy doing as I have many many bird photos!!

1) Great Egret.  This one was panting to cool off in the heat. I hadn't known that birds did that!!

2) British Robin. Very cheeky and quite friendly.

3)  Emu. They are such funny birds and make the oddest of noises, almost like jugband tuning up!!

4) Magpie Goose. Very territorial and aggressive!! I used my zoom to get this shot!!.

Wow, as I was waking up this morning and thinking about my day, I suddenly realized it was my turn to do the Picture This theme.  So this is being put up very fast. Apologies. The theme is birds, or pictures of birds, or sculptures. You could even put up an airplane as they are often referred to as birds. Here are mine, will come by and comment on yours on FB as usual.

Wild turkey. This one is protected and will not be someone's Thanksgiving meal.

Pelicans on the dock.

Old-fashioned fancy sugar cubes, painted with birds. For fancy parties in the mid-20th century.

This is such a great theme! I'm just waking up, Heidi's cheerful flowers as banner shot are helping me. Unfortunately when I upgraded my OS on my Mac, it changed completely how I upload to Flickr. I finally figured it out. So here are my pictures, some old, maybe one new. Still can't comment on Blogger (the upgrade didn't fix that) so I will pm you on FB.

Hi everyone, this is Mitch. I'll be hosting this week. The theme this week is 'Aspects Of Water'. It has so many different faces.....calm and reflective, fast moving, torrential. Let's see your different takes on water. Here are mine:

1) Sunset sea at Freshwater West, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

2) River through a forest. Dorset, England.

Good morning on this somewhat grey and cold Michigan morning. Flowers are just what we need for a theme. And thank you for using my gull as banner picture. I don't have a lot of flowers just now, but have some in my archives. Here they are. (As usual, I will comment on your pictures through Facebook PM.)

Solomon's Seal, a somewhat rare wildflower in Michigan.

A perfect place for a nursery, a bird's nest in apple blossoms.

Queen Anne's Lace is a flower made of many tiny flowers. This little bug like it.

Still morning here - the US is on the brink of an important election, and I am working hard on it and not getting much sleep. This lovely theme by Anders is a welcome diversion. Also by Anders, a marvellous banner shot. Here are my skies. 

Perhaps I have posted this before. I didn't alter the color of the moon in any way. It is orange due to smoke from wildfires 2000 miles (3,125 km) away. I see Heidi has also posted a shot of this effect.
