PICTURE THIS #358 ~ CASTLES, PALACES OR MANORS

Congratulations, Pat, for the banner image that pictures a very nice composition.
Thanks, Anders, for the theme of your choice, though none of the three options would ever be one of my dreams...

Picture This #358 ~ Castles, Palaces Or Manors

Wonderful theme and grand banner by Pat! Wonderful to see so many different sorts of tea and teapots.

We don't have castles here; I wish we did. I love them. But I did the best I could.

Many thanks to Anders for hosting this week. A great theme that we haven't done for quite some time!!  Here in Wales we have a rich history of castles. Back in 2009 I spent much of that summer travelling to many of Wales' most famous castles and photographing them. All my shots are from that year.

1) The dramatic entrance to the ruined Llawhaden Castle, Pembrokeshire. This one is fairly close to where I live, about 5 miles away. It was built around 1362.

2) Caernarfon Castle, in North Wales, is probably the most famous Welsh castle. It was built around 1283. In more recent times it was the venue of the investiture of Charles as Prince Of Wales.

3) Picton Castle, Pembrokeshire. Another castle that is fairly local to me, about 8 miles from where I live. Originally built in the late 13th century, it has been remodelled several times over the centuries and now resembles more a fortified manor than a castle.

4) Dolbadarn Castle is in North Wales, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It was built around 1230.

Terrific banner, Pat!!

Welcome and greetings from Sweden. This is Anders and I'm your host this week. The theme is about the various regal buildings that dot the landscape in many countries. Hope you'll enjoy this challenge. Now I'm on a three-day weekend due to the Midsummer holiday. All the best to you all. Anders.

Picture This #357 ~ Drinks

Thanks for hosting Belita and an interesting theme and congratulations Benni on the super banner photo.

I only really drink tea or cranberry juice for medicinal purposes and never touch alcohol so I do not have a big selection, unless I took a photo now and again for fun. Let's begin with tea, and preferably Twinings please. I can buy it in our local town. I have blogged about it a couple of times and so I have this photo. I do not know if I have used it before on here.

Back to the days when my digestive system still accepted coffee. I took this photo in a local restaurant.

My feline Tabby is totally TT and drinks only water, although she tells me that water is not just water . I took this photo today after another monsoon rain. My Hostas have mega leaves this year and she finds them ideal as a drinking bowl.

And talking of felines, Nera, Tabby's litter sister that left us a couple of years ago for her 10th life and the eternal corn chambers where the mice run free, also had her favourite drinking place.

Happy Saturday to everyone. I am pleased to see my picture of the moon as banner shot. Thank you.

Here are my takes on this wonderful theme.

Deer and friend
A deer drinks from a stream that is covered with fluff from cottonwood trees. The blackbird was an unexpected element.

Sea foam
Coca-cola over thick coconut syrup which produces the foam. Rum can be added.

Kitty
We changed her water twice a day and tried other things to discourage this, but were unsuccessful.

Many thanks to Belita for hosting this week. Another great theme that I don't recall us ever doing before!! This one was rather a challenge for me as I couldn't think of any suitable shots in my archive, so I had to improvise. All these shots were taken this morning with various drinks I have in either my fridge or kitchen cupboards!!

1) I always have a glass of juice with my coffee in the mornings. Here is this week's choice.
Drinks 1 Juice

2) Talking of coffee, here's the one I usually have. Yes, I know it's instant, but it has a surprisingly good flavour!!
 Drinks 4 Coffee

3) If you want an alcoholic beverage, choose your poison.
Drinks 2 Alcohol

4) Or maybe you prefer something softer?

PICTURE THIS #357 ~ DRINKS

Thanks, Mitch, for giving me once again the opportunity to host a PT Challenge. We all have our favourite drinks, yet either they are spirits, fruit juice or simply water, they are not food but drinks. So, this week, our theme is 'Drinks'.
Cheers!

Old-style steamer used at a tea production company, in the Azores. The principle is simple: to cook the plucked leaves with steam as quickly and evenly as possible so as to stop any enzymatic activities in the leaves for subsequent steps of shaping and drying.
The tea (green and black) that is produced over there is called 'Gorreana'. If you would like to know further about this only tea plantation and factory in Europe, pls visit the site http://gorreana.pt/en/

Picture This #356 ~ Daily Chores

Brilliant banner photo from Mitch and a good theme, although I do not get out as much as I would like to, as still coming to grips with aided walking, but I will get there. As long as you have two cameras and a mobile phone, you can always take a photo.

For those who do not know, I have now definitely been diagnosed with MS, although I can live with it. I have probably had it since 25 years, it creeps up on you and you tend to think it is just old age. One day you realise that something is wrong, at least my doctor did and sent me to the specialist. After many complicated examinations, plus a lumber puncture the result is now known. I think almost every hospital in Switzerland got a sample of my body liquids along the line.

And now to something normal.

A typical morning chore: having my breakfast with I, me and myself, and the computer. Every morning same place, more or less same time. This time with my new Acer computer instead of my Apple - yes I have the best of both worlds.
breakfasr & computer time
Another daily chore, checking my diabetes level of sugar. Actually I should do it daily, but actually do it now and again when I think of it. No big deal, for this one I am not on the needle.

I do not think there is much to be said about this one, we all do it.

Picture This #356 ~ Daily Chores

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. A great idea for a theme, lots of possibilities. This one took a bit of thinking about and searching through my archive.

Here are mine:

1) A 'daily chore' in the summer for this guy is serving ice-cream to tourists.
Awaiting Trade B&W

2) Not exactly a 'daily' chore, but a regular one is doing the washing. Here's a shot of the inside of my washing-machine!!

3) Another daily chore in the summer is patrolling the beach, keeping people safe.
On Patrol

4) The most important daily chore........making dinner!!! This is Moroccan spiced lamb meatballs, Cous-cous and Raita.
