Picture This #266 ~ Water

Thanks for hosting Baz, although the water in Switzerland is confined to rivers and embankment dams. If it rains it pours.

I have a Hosta plantation in one of my gardens, and here is a rain drop on a leaf.

Water is a great theme, thank you, Baz. And my ducks and I are honored to have them as banner picture for this week, thank you all.

Rocks
These rocks are underwater; I don't know if you can see that. The cold water of Lake Superior, far north in Canada, does not support much in the way of algae, and the water stays clear.

Pelican
I took a few pictures of this pelican fishing in the surf. I don't think I posted this one before.

Many thanks to Baz for hosting this week despite being unwell. A really good theme, and one that everyone should have photos for, so NO excuses for not posting!!

1) Montezuma's Well, Arizona. This is a natural limestone sinkhole fed by an underground spring. It maintains an almost constant level of water even in times of drought. The water is highly carbonated and has high levels of arsenic. Despite this, five unique species live here that are not found anywhere else.

2) Cloud reflections? Or grass growing in the sky? You decide.

Hi all bAZ in the big chair today, this will be short and sweet as Marci and I both picked up a virus when  she was visiting and I am not feeling great LOL.

So, Mitch asked me to pick a theme for this week and I have chosen "Water" as that theme.

Here are my choices for this week, have a great weekend ;)

Picture This #265 ~ Strange

Wonderful banner, Anders!! A beautiful sunlit summer path. Really nice.

Now for some strange things - using my imagination here.

These ducks are looking at something strange. I don't know what.

An old taxidermy exhibit from the nature center I used to work in. It was kept in a back room as it was distressing to the children.

Shed
I've used this before. My neighbor's shed which I hated. During a hard storm, one of my trees took it out.

I was out hiking in the New Forest one day and this was the strangest thing I ever saw LOL ;)

Picture This #265 ~ Strange

Many thanks to Pat for hosting this week. I really like her theme, lots of possibilities!! For myself, I have decided to go with 'strange characters'.

1) This strange character I call 'The Watcher'. I spotted him in a flower-bed at Stackpole Gardens. A strange place to put a sculpture!! It was difficult to get a clear shot through all the plants!!

2) I spotted this strange and ghostly figure at Aberglasny Gardens. I call him 'The Spirit Of The Gardens'

3) I spotted this strange character, who appears to be half fox and half man at Picton Castle Gardens. Even stranger is that he appears to be holding Captain America's shield!!! LOL.

4) This strange character was also spotted at Stackpole Gardens. There's just something about him that makes me smile.

Picture This #265 ~ Strange

Hello everyone, Mrs. Angloswiss calling from sunny Switzerland. I am early, but I never have time on Saturday morning for posting things, so I am doing it a little early on Friday.  My turn this week and I decided on a title that you can all interpret in your own way, just to make life spicy for us all. We often take photos of strange things with the camera, it makes the life of a photographer more interesting.

Here is my first strange object - a view of chairs as I was sitting in the restaurant of the local supermarket

Chairs in a restaurnt

This little sphinx cat often visits us in the garden. Today we found him sleeping on one of our chairs on the porch. He is still a little timid and disappears when we arrive, but seems to be getting more friendly. He belongs to a neighbour.
Meet the sphinx

It's summer and the flies are everywhere. I cannot even work with the computer without an interruption from a fly.

And here is an extra. What you see when you lay on your back on the bed and look towards an open door leading to the corridor.

Picture This #264 ~ Summer

Hi all, I'm late posting because Marci and I have been on vacation around the south of England

We spent a few days at Corfe in Dorset and then we went to London and I showed Marci my home town.

Finally we went to the Isle of Wight where Marci was running a Half Marathon at Ryde which turned out to be the toughest one she had ever run!!

I added a bonus shot at the end I am sure Mitch will forgive me LOL ;)

Here are a few "Summer" shots from out travels:
