Picture This #391 ~ Things That Make Noise

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. A great theme, again one I don't think we've done before. I had had fun trying to find different takes on the theme.

1) This bird certainly liked making some noise!!

2) A guitar this size would make plenty of noise!!
Twang

3) The noise when the meteor that created this crater hit the Earth would have been beyond human comprehension!!

Here I am, still in sunny Florida, hoping I have come up with a theme that has lots of creative possibilities. My congratulations on the artful banner photo by Anders, featuring glass on a window sill, a wonderful subject.

Here are some noise-makers to get you started off.

Good banner photo from Benni, has a good ambiance.
Thanks Anders for hosting this week.

Every year around Christmas there is an exhibition in our local Castle Waldegg, just up the hill from where I live. I took a shot of this hand coloured music book.

Silhouette Paper Cutting is a hobby of some in Switzerland, and has a very long tradition. We once visited a lady that did such silhouttes and she gave us this one as a gift.

I used to see this every day from my office window when I was a working woman. The train lines were opposite the office and someone used their arts and crafts for graffiti.

Many thanks to Anders for hosting this week. A very good theme, which I don't think we've had before. I'm looking forward to seeing all the different types of hand-crafts in everyone's photos.

1) 'Funny Face'. A mask hand-made by a pupil at the Stackpole Mencap Gardens project.

2) 'Garden Angel'. A piece by Raul Speek, who has been resident artist in the village of Solva, Pembrokeshire, Wales, for many years.

HI ALL FROM CARNIVAL LAND GERMANY
THANK YOU ANDERS FOR A WONDERFUL THEME.

THE ART OF MASKS IS SO VERY INTERESTING. THIS TIME OF YEAR THEY ARE ALL WORKS OF ART. THE WOODEN ONES COST $200 UPWARDS. THEY ARE HAND CARVED. HERE WHERE I LIVE WE HAVE STREET CARNIVAL, MOSTLY OUTDOORS. ONLY WHEN IT RAINS OR BAD SNOW DO THEY COME INDOORS. MOST OF THIS COMES FROM THE COMMEDIA DELLA ARTE IN THE NORTH OF ITALY AND OLD HEATHEN RITUALS TO DRIVE OUT WINTER.

MY FAVORITE OF THE CARVED MASKS IS THE WITCH.

Great banner by Benni!

Greetings and welcome from Sweden! Making things by hand is an age-old custom. It exists all over the world. I'm kind of partial to this sort of thing. I think it has gotten lost in the enthusiasm for all things digital, Hope you'll enjoy the challenge. Looking forward to your photos.
