Hi, this is Benni, your host this week for Picture This. We are in the last days of summer here in the northern hemisphere; fall will soon (too soon) be upon us.
The theme this week was inspired by a recent car trip that I took and it is "old". This can be interpreted in many different ways, so give yourself a lot of latitude and have fun.
Forgotten old graveyard
Old house, now a student co-op.
Fascinating old book store. I spent many hours here.

Many thanks to Pat for hosting this week's challenge. A great theme, lots of possibilities!! Had to search my archives for this theme. While I'm fairly good at macros and landscapes, action-shots are not my thing, so apologies if some of these are not as sharp as usual!!
Here are mine:
1) Taken from inside a flying object!! Somewhere between Las Vegas and New Jersey.
2) A Great Egret, looking annoyed because he missed the fish he was trying to catch!!
3) British Airways 747, taking off from Heathrow Airport, London.
4) Even dolphins can fly!!!
These three shots were taken at the occasion, a visit to the Ängelholm Museum of Flight
A SK-50 Trainer
A Surface-To-Air missile
The Draken jetfighter - the first one with a delta-wing.
HI ALL AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO PAT FOR A REALLY COOL THEME
BENNIE A WONDERFUL BANNER
LOTS OF COLOR AND FLYING HIGH!!
AN OLD JUKER IN SAN FRANCISCO.
LANDING IN SAN FRANCISCO BUT STILL FLYING.
ALWAYS FLYING NEVER STOPS.

Congratulations, Benni, for the very pretty banner image!
Thanks, Pat, for the choice of this week's theme... It's a good one, though I don't have many shots on it.
Intentionally, my selection doesn't include any bird, any insect, either. Mitch is so much great at them that I better share the shots below....

Hello everyone - Its Pat from Switzerland calling for some photos this week, so let them fly or rest in between flying.
This is a so-called Super Puma (according to Mr. Swiss) and our army have a few. This was not involved in an army exercise, but was helping out with some building work in a company, so I was busy snapping photos from my garden.
I think this is a so-called humming bird hawk moth. We have them all the time in late Summer where I live, feeding on the pollen of the flowers.
I think this is a red admiral. We had quite a few this year.
And our zeppelin that was touring Switzerland to celebrate an Edelweiss anniversary. It was stationed at the local airport and you were able to go for trips, although quite expensive.

Images & Words
This is a special theme to honor our dear friend Carol Walheim
who has always been and always will be an inspiration to me.
Please show your love and support for Carol
by posting one photo with words
with Carol in mind.
Like most of you I first came to know Carol through the group Images & Words on Multiply. I don't know how I ran across the group, but I'm thankful I did, because we have
been like one big happy family.
I have done so much learning and growing with this group and their wonderful photos and words of wisdom.
Thank you, Carol for all the love and encouragement you have shown me
and our fellow photographers throughout the years.
We love you!!
