Picture This #472 ~ Fruits Of Autumn

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week.  A great theme for this time of year. harvest time is in full swing and there are lots of fruits both cultivated and wild to be seen.

1) Wild bramble fruits such as blackberries and raspberries are an autumn favourite for many.

2) Fly Agaric is a common autumn fungus in the UK.

3) Apples are everyone's favourite autumn fruit.

4) This autumn fungus was one I had not seen before. From a distance it looked like a large pine-cone. It think it might be related to puffball fungi.

Good morning, this is Benni, I am your host this week. Wonderful banner picture by Mitch showing the contrast between natural lines and man-made lines. Beautiful as well. I am still not able to comment here, but I will be commenting (when I get up) by PM on Facebook.
The theme this week is the "Fruits of Autumn", I am including mushrooms in the definition. You might include an autumn dinner or even an autumn ale. I hope you have fun finding pictures. Here are mine:

Osage Orange
This odd fruit, which is not edible, is called an osage orange or hedge apple. They grow on trees in old woods.

Purple mushroom
A purple mushroom that pops up in oak forests in the fall.

Giant puff ball
Another fall fungus, the giant puff ball. I am told they are edible, but I am not sure enough to recommend it. The squirrels and deer like them.

Apples
Good old apples, these are certainly edible and I shook a number from this tree. They taste so much better than store-bought apples.

I look forward to seeing the fruits of your interpretations.

Picture This #471 ~ I Got The Power

Good day to all! Love this theme and love love love the banner shot by Heidi. A perfect fall photo.
As usual I will be commenting on your pictures in PMs on FB. Here are my interpretations of the theme:

Wire and branch
Somehow this branch grew into the overhead electric wires.

Demonstration against family separations USA
A demonstration against the USA's policy of separating families seeking asylum at the border. "Si Se Puede" means "Yes we can".  People power.

Power dog
Dog power, splashing into the ocean to get his ball.

Boy at lake
The power of photography. This is one of my first pictures; I was eleven. It opened a world for me.

Picture This #471 ~ I Got The Power

Greetings everyone, this is Mitch your host for this week. I've tried to come up with a bit of a different theme this week, and I think this is a good one. 'I Got The Power'. You can interpret it any way you want, but I've gone with pretty much literal interpretations.

1) Electricity powers much of our modern-day society.
March Of Progress 2

2) Coal has, for more than two centuries, been a major source of power. This is a monument to the miners of South Wales who worked so hard to get it out of the ground.

3) Oil, of course, is another important source of power.

4) Plasma energy.

Picture This #470 ~ The Color Orange

Wonderful banner shot by Mitch and great theme for this time of year. I am late posting but better late than never. I can't comment on Blogger so I will send you PMs on FB about your pictures. Here are mine:

Moon through smoke
This is the moon colored orange by the smoke of fires in the west about a year ago. I was so surprised to see it this color, and astonished that smoke 2000 miles away could affect how the moon looks in Michigan.

Picture This #469 ~ One

Thank you for using my fawns as the banner picture. It was a pleasure seeing them on the edge of the woods. I love this theme by Anders, simple and with so many possibilities. I will put my pictures up and then try to comment on yours; I've had no luck in fixing my comment box. If I can't, I will pm you with my comments.
