Forgive me for being late; I have been upset over the recent events in my country and not sleeping well.  We are hearing gunshots at night even in our isolated area. But my friends and photography have been a comfort to me.

Berkey Hall on campus. You can see the town in the window.

One of my neighbors. All the houses in this area are set back well into the woods.

My home 3 months of the year. Houses are built on a series of "ponds".

Again, Florida.

These three shots were taken at visit to the Knähaken beach south of Helsingborg in the Summer of '13.

Since my father passed away, I have been busy, but I will be joining in this week. Next week I am off to England  for the funeral.

I have not been very much out and about lately, more than half hour walks are no longer possible and Summer time is somehing I no longer need since living in a place where I have my own summer.

One of our problems in summer is keeping the bathroom towels dry enough as it is so hot that we close the blinds during the day to keep the sun away. My solution is to hang them in the garden in the morning to dry

Tabby decided that laying on the ground on the porch is too hot, so she found another place to cool off.

The natural meadow has now been mowed down next to our garden and it will supply hay for the cows and other livestock in Winter. It is only allowed to be mowed at the end of June, beginning July, to ensure that the seeds are sown for next year.

And of course, the roses are now flowering - at last.

Hi everyone, this is Mitch. I'll be hosting this week. Well, it's now summer (allegedly!!), although the weather here in Wales this past week looks more like autumn, with torrential rain, high winds and cool temperatures. Anyway, this week's theme is 'In The Summertime'. Show us photos of what summertime means to you. Have fun!!

1) That perennial summertime favourite....ice-cream on the beach!!

2) Typical British holidaymakers.....sunbathing fully clothed!! LOL.

3) Lifeguards...making sure everyone is safe.

4) Having a drink with friends on a warm summer evening.
