Have been painting all day, hard work. But also got some pictures of my neighborhood. Will pop around in the morning to comment on yours.

Old tree, new building. Across the road.

Vacant lot across the road, home to deer and wildflowers.

Shed on my neighbor's property. Always hated it. Now it's gone. Pity.

First of all thanks Mitch for putting East Ham Underground station up as a banner photo. I am sure East Ham has never been so important.

Thanks Heidi for hosting, so now I will see what the village of Feldbrunnen, Kanton Solothurn, Switzerland  has to offer

First of all a view over our estate. My garden is the last one before the little path in between and is hidden by a hedge, but you get the general impression of what it is like. We live on the ground floor, so have a garden where the others have balconies.

This is one of our neighbours. Actually despite the villa and the Ferrari in the garage he is a nice guy

Let's go a little further, just around the corner and into the village to the main road, cutting the village into two parts. The lower area, where I live and the top part known as St. Niklaus. Here you see the local train, known as Bipper Lisi.

And here a view across the fields in the top half of the village towards the Jura mountains.

I haven't taken photos of my local area for some time, so I've had to raid my archive. Here are mine:

1) Lamphey. The village where I live.

2) Just a short walk from where I live is Lamphey Palace, which was the summer residence of the Bishops of St David.

3) The view across the fields from my bedroom window. The white building is a hotel.

4) This is my favourite Chinese restaurant/take-away, in the next town, 2 miles away.

Thanks for hosting Anders, an interesting theme especially as I was on a 2x 6 hour journey on the German railways last month.

This is the main station in Bern, Switzerland. It was newly built a few years ago

On a holiday in Paris many years ago with Mr. Swiss and the boys, I took a photo of the metro train in the station at Bir Hakim - not a digital as it was still the days of the instamatic camera

On a trip to see my dad in London travelled on the underground in the evening. I had to change trains at East Ham station on the district line and whilst waiting for the next connection took a photo. Not all the stations are underground and as the train approaches the suburbs of London the rails are in the open.

And for the last photo, the inside of our local train as I was on my way to the next town of Solothurn. the train is affectionately known as Bipperlisi to the locals.

Thanks for a great theme, Anders. Trains are not common here in the rural midwest, but that makes them all the more fascinating. I used to take the train south to visit family.
