Picture This #248 ~ Fields

Fields. I have a lot of them around here. With spring now in full gear the fields are starting to shape up all around. Here are a few from the past.

Here in this shot is a field in the painted hills area of Oregon.RAP_5848

Picture This # 248 ~ Fields

Here is a wide expanse of field at Prospect Park. This is just the lower end of the Long Meadow and can accommodate many sports teams. In the distance on the right you can see a man siphoning mud puddles on the baseball field and blowing it onto the grassy area, in preparation for yesterday's games.

Warming up before the game. The little girl in yellow was an amazing pitcher!!! The building on the left is the old Tennis House, only used for administration now, which burns me up. I have yet to say, "You need to restore this and turn it back to public domain as it was intended." Grrrr...

Many thank to Pat for hosting this week's challenge. She has chosen a good theme, which should see plenty of variety, and some great landscapes.

Here are my fields:

Picture This #248 ~ Field(s)

Hello everyone, Swiss miss Pat reporting - have to do this Friday evening as Saturday is filled with housewifey stuff.

Fields are everywhere, even in the corner of a town there is a field somewhere, even if it is just grass. Anyhow you can interpret this according to your wish. Here are my fields:

I am not a farmer, so do not know if this is wheat or barley, but something in that line of things just around the corner in the castle farmlands

Wheat field in Feldbrunnen

Another collection of fields in our village. The yellow is from the Rape Seed plants, which is afterwards turned into Rape oil

I think the farmer was feeling artistic when he ploughed this one, or looked a little deep into the glass as the lines were not so straight. Also in the village.

Picture This #247 ~ Cats And Dogs

What a marvelous banner for this week, one of Belita's superb portraits of people.

I don't currently have an animal living with me, at least none that I am aware of. Certainly there are spiders walking around in the basement and as long as they don't bother me, I do not bother them.  I was tempted to include a picture of the gecko lizard that lived in our Florida house, but he is not even a mammal.

Anyway, here are some animals I have known to one degree or another.

Dog with frisbee
I forgot his name but he was a star at the Broward Dog Beach in Florida.

Vancouver
Vancouver, who somehow got called Dippy, in my ill-tended garden. She was a marvelous mouser and a fine companion who lived to be 19.

CompuCat1
My Honey, who left us last December.  That's my Yahoo 360! page on the computer.

Lovely banner picture from Belita. It was my favourite as well.

So what can I say, with over 500 photos of felines in my stock I am now confronted with three felines all fighing for a place in the top three, although I told them you have to give the canines a chance as well.

No. 1 We have a conversation between Mr. Swiss and Fluffy, my little blind Selkirk Rex Cat. I don't know what they were discussing, but Mr. Swiss seemed to have found it quite amusing.

Fluffy and Mr. Swiss

Here we have the local supermarket feline again. She is always to be found in her territory, exploring the halls of the supermarket and usually finding a nice comfortable place, mainly in the restaurant. This time she posed for a portrait. The expression in her eyes says all.
Migros Cat

And now for a dog. Introducing Toby, my freind's dog. I always stay with her when in London. She adopted Toby from the Battersea Dog Home. He was found in a park tied to a bench with two other dogs.

Hi all. Happy Easter Weekend. Congrats to Belita for the wonderful header image. It was by far my favorite image of last week's contributions.

Apologies first to everybody who is a "cat person", I am not and do not have a single shot of a cat even in my extensive archive LOL.

So my contributions this week are all dogs. I hope you like them ;)
