Picture This #309 ~ Summer Vacation

I am so happy to see that Mitch put one of his shots as the banner picture. Capturing flame is very hard to do, and the shine on the cups is wonderful.

We take our vacation in the winter, when we go to Florida to escape the harsh Michigan winters.

Walking into my front door in the summer, one can see back to the woods behind the house.

Our door into Summer; this is Florida in February, with palm fronds outside the front door.

This is a naughty picture; we had just settled in down in Florida and I took a shot of the TV weatherman showing us where it says "warm" and showing all my family and friends enduring an Arctic blast. It made a nice email attachment.

I don't like going to the beach in Summer but once in the season I go with my grandson. Last year, he was so proud of having caught a crab that he didn't feel shy to show it to strangers...

It's intriguing, frustrating or whatever you may call it when you come back home from vacations and download photos from your camera to the computer and find a weird shot... 

When I travel in Summer, I always bring some souvenirs for my family. Last year, I found these key covers cute enough to please my daughter in law who loves gadgets.

I no longer do summer holidays because I live in a place that does it all for me. I spend the good summer days usually taking walks in the neighbourhood with Mr. Swiss or on the patio with the computer.

We live just 5 minutes walk from the Rive Aare which goes through the middle of Switzerland. I took this photo a couple of days ago of the Aare. You can see see a small peak at the Jura mountains in the distance.

We  have a stork colony in the village of Altreu, a village on the Aare. The storks are free to do what they want to do and sometimes they pay us a visit in our area. I was lucky enough to see one taking a walk along the river in a field.

Looks like the reeds are getting higher along the river bank.

My garden is also one of my favourite places for a summer holiday, perhaps eating our meals outside and taking a look at how it grows and flowers.

Oh, and  nearly forgot, what would a walk along the river be if one of the swans did not show up to say hello.

Thanks for hosting Benni and thanks Mitch for featuring my grass or whatever as a banner shot. Just a small remark Mitch, what about a banner photo from you some time - don't be shy you have some wonderful photos to show.

Shiny means getting everything nice a clean and sparkling, so I made a couple of new photos as things are not always as they should be.

My lamp base caught my eye this morning, so here it is. I think Mr. Swiss shines that now and again

Our River Aar always shines, whether in the sun or in the storm clouds

This one came along at the right time. Things are starting to grow around the basin, so Fields and grass are everywhere. Even a few others who enjoy the green slivers. Thanks Pat for the theme to play with. Also it does my heart and lens good seeing the shot on the banner. So now for a romp in the field.

This young Coyote beatin cheeks to get into the cover of the Field's grass cover. Not really into being in pictures today I guess. LOL

Oh the party is getting bigger. 

As I said the wheat is coming up nicely in the fields. Hopefully it will be a wonderful year for the areas wheat harvest.
