Paprikás
My husband's mother's side of the family is from Hungary and this is authentic Paprikás, no real recipe, made from memory of his mother and grandmother cooking. Traditionally the chicken dish is served over "nookedlie" or home-made noodles, but he has not been adventurous enough to try.

  1. Hi Benni! I do believe the taste of the dishes exceeds the very good quality of the shots.... I would love to have a seat at the table and enjoy all those foods.
    Regarding the quince fruit, I've just posted about it...

    1. I read your post and it sounds marvelous. I don't think I have ever seen quince this far north, but maybe they will have them in Florida. Thank you for the recipe and taste of something new to me.

  2. Hi Benni !! Wonderful shots for this week's theme!! Love the shot of the butternut squash. The light and colour are perfect for autumn!! Great-looking Thanksgiving spread in your second shot!! I really like the look of that Hungarian dish in the last shot. Looks deee-licious!!

  3. Hi Benni so glad you love my theme ---first in Calif. my mother in-law had a quince tree she lived near San Francisco and use to make jam out of them
    I had a neighbor who was Hungarian and she use to make the chicken with noodles and she always made one for us soooo wonderful ---your squash shot is so good the light etc. wonderful

  4. A very good photo compositon of the butternut squash, they are so thankful for a photo. Love a peep at a real Amerian thanksgiving table.Love the hungarian dish. I sometimes cook a gulash. A friend of mine is Hungarian and gave me some origianl Hungarian paprika, it is so much better than the one in our supermarkets.
