Picture This #368 ~ Low Light/Night

Many thanks to Benni for hosting this week. A great theme, which I don't think we've done before, at least not the 'night' part!!   I've done very little night-time photography, so most of mine are low-light shots.

1) One of my very few genuine night shots. These are the tug-boats used to guide in the oil-tankers at the local refinery at Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales. They are being prepared for a late-night arrival.

2) This low-light shot is of Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England. I liked how just the road through the gorge is catching the available light and everything else is silhouetted.

3) This night-shot I took on a rainy night from my hotel window at Newark Airport, New Jersey. The red light you can see towards the upper-left is the sign on the Anheuser Busch brewery.

4) 'Golden Path' created by the setting sun at Hobbs Point, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

  1. Hi Mitch! Fascinating night shot. I love how the light streams across the water. Cheddar Gorge is wonderful with that little tree in just the perfect spot to make the scene. Nice shot of a rainy night in Jersey and fabulous "golden path" of the setting sun in Wales. I especially like the silhouetted branches in this one.

  2. Wow - exceptional brilliant gold and silver luminescense in the velvet darkness of night.

    Beautiful shimmering paleblue sky.

Utterly lovely shimmering lemon-gold light upon the cityscape

Beautiful brilliant river of iridescent platinum glow in the liquid silver sea.

  3. Hi Mitch! Beautiful water reflections at night... Very nice light in the second shot in contrast to the darkness... A rainy night seen from indoors is always a beautiful scene... Awesome light in the bottom image..

  4. well believe it or not I did answere this but forgot to click publish so sorry
I love your shots especially the harbor lights at night wow and the rain in America cool the golden patch is so good
    sorry again
