Autumn Fun.

My favorite season of the year. Things finally cool off and new colors start to showing in the trees.

Picture This #370 ~ Autumn Fun

Hi all its good to be back on Picture This and the blogger software working for me again LOL. The Fun of Autumn is what I see through the lens of my camera the subtle changes that take place as we move out of Summer and into the Autumn season.

For Example colour change:

Its also the time of bounty:

Picture This #370 ~ Autumn Fun

First of all congratulations Heidi to the wonderful banner photo and thanks for hosting this week.

Mushrooms spring up everywhere where I live especially along the river bank.

The apples are now ripening on the trees. This is an apple tree on one of the meadows nearby.

And I at last invested in a 300 lens for some long distance shots. I was fed up with birds that flew away when I wanted to take a photo. Here is my local Mr. Blackbird foraging around on the lawn searching for food. He will soon have a front seat on my bird house.

Wonderful banner picture and theme by Heidi. Fall is one of my favorite time of year now that the weather has cooled and the leaves are starting to turn. The trees are still all green here, but I was able to find some pictures to fit.

Many thanks to Heidi for hosting this week. An appropriate theme for the time of year, as autumn has now officially started in the Northern Hemisphere. Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since there were sweltering temperatures here in the UK.

Here are mine:

1) In the countryside autumn is a time to see fungi, like this Fly Agaric.
Fly Agaric 1

2) And of course, the leaves start to turn colour. Here in the UK we don't get as much splendid Fall colour as New England, but we do get some, like these golden Beech leaves.

3) In my local town of Pembroke, there is the annual October Fair in autumn, with traditional fair-stalls such as this.
Hook-A-Duck

4) And it wouldn't be a proper fair without a few thrill-rides!!

Picture This #369 ~ Volumetric/Geometric Shapes

Hi everyone, sorry I'm a bit late posting this week, as I'm visiting mom for a few days. Had to get her computer up to date as she hardly uses it herself these days. Many thanks to Belita for hosting this week, and for giving us another great new theme!! As I don't have my archive to refer to, I'm having to trawl through my Flickr account, which is slower.

2) Irridescent paperweight.

Picture This #369 ~ Volumetric/Geometric Shapes

Beautiful picture by Anders! And a wonderful theme by Belita. I had so much fun finding pictures because, of course, everything has geometric shapes.

I may have posted some of these before, so I hope you will indulge me.

Lizard
Square or diamond shapes with a lizard who has her own shapes on her back.

Berries
Orange spheres - they look tasty but only for the birds.

Spiral
Grass in a classic spiral.

First of all sorry I was not around last week, but things were beginning to get a bit stressful. I have a blog running on WordPress (crossposted to Facebook), I have physio therapy once a week and now have to inject every second day, not diabetic pens, but the real thing with needle and everything - no I am not dealing, just learning something new for my MS. To compensate I am a little earlier this week.

This is what I would title as a "Mitch" photo. The Echinacea flower head - taken with my new macro lens. Of course not as good as the original Mitch, but I think I might be getting there.

Echinacea 9.9 (1)

Here we were walking from the car at the local supermarket and I found the sun made some interesting shadows with the rails through the glass. As I always have a camera with me, I naturally took a shot.

This is a plain and simple sweet pea flower that attracted my attention yesterday in the garden. I grew it from a seed and each time they begin to flower I am surprised by the colour. This time it was a white one (yes, I know, again with my macro lens).

I am unsure what purpose these caffeine capsules serve but it seems like it might be helpful for folks who need to stay awake for an extended amount of time.
