Picture This #245 ~ Still Or Calm

Congratulations to Marianne for her beautiful photograph of the bird. Excellent shot for the week's banner.
I have been absent for several week. We vacationed at Disney World in the middle of last month. I can only state that I do procrastinate. I viewed this week's theme and became motivated again. Here are my choices.

The first photo is from an idea that I had to photograph porches in my town. I never completed the project. This is probably the best image of that project. It expresses stillness on a warm summer morning.

I took a photo of the reflection of the pool cover. I wanted to catch the clouds and the trees.

This photo was taken at one of our state parks. There are no people as you can see the benches and picnic tables in the distance are empty. It was a beautiful autumn morning to catch the sun rising over the pond.

  1. Hello, Robert, so glad you were inspired by this theme. Your photos certainly show that. I'me so enchanted by the wicker furniture on the porch. It looks warm, cozy and tranquil. The reflection on the pool cover is very creative work and also beautiful. And what a lovely autumn morning you have captured in your last picture. Wonderful.

    1. Thank you, Benni for your comments. I thought that porch had the most charm because of the wicker furniture. It was a beautiful autumn morning when I went to that state park.

    1. I was hesitant about continuing the project because of privacy issues. I think that I would have to ask the owners' permission.

  5. Hi Robert!! Good to see back again, I was wondering where you'd gotten to. Like Benni, I'm intrigued by the idea of a project to photograph porches. Maybe you could resume it this coming summer? Anyway, your example in the first shot is really nice. Love that wicker furniture with the morning light slowly creeping across it. Excellent reflections in the second shot. My favourite is definately the third shot. A beautifully still autumn morning. I can almost feel the crispness of the air and hear the crunch of leaves underfoot.

    1. Hi Mitch, I became hesitant about photographing porches because of privacy issues. I resumed it again this past summer. One of the owners came out and asked me what I was doing. So, I think it would be wiser to ask permission. These houses and porches are beautiful. I was fortunate to get that shot of the reflection in the pool. My favorite photo is the last one. I took my time to compose that shot. Thanks, Mitch.

  9. Hi Robert! What a good idea you have had and what a pity you have not concluded it, yet. From the top photo, a very romantic ambience which I really love, I can figure out how the project would be interesting. Think about concluding it... I'm sure it would be applauded by whoever could see your captures...

  10. Belita, thank you for your encouraging words. The center of our town has these beautiful houses and the owners know how to dress up their porches.
