Picture This #246 ~ Street Scenes

Congratulations Baz, for your photo selected as this week's banner.

This is a great theme that Heidi selected. I sometimes have to search through my images to match the theme but in this case, I do have several.

This photo is the market stalls in the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, Italy.

This is a view from a NYC store window. I forgot what numbered street intersected with Seventh Avenue.

I entered this photo before. It's Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA.

One last view of NYC. A must stop whenever we go. Hershey's.

  3. Hi Robert!! Four great shots for Heidi's theme!! Interesting first shot.. While the architecture is definately Italian, the weather is more British!! I see in your second shot you got the start of yet another yellow-cab race. Ah yes, I remember the third shot, I recall asking why all the Portugese flags. I remember seeing the Hershey shop but I didn't go in. Too many places to see, not nearly enough time!!

    1. Hi Mitch. That was the only rainy day we had on our Italian tour. It was amazing to see all those yellow cabs stopped at the same traffic light. I usually don't repeat photos but I thought the Provincetown photo f it well with Heidi's theme. New York does have too many places to see.

  5. Hi Robert! Four great shots for this week's theme... perhaps because of the rain, the piazza was not crowded as normally it is day and night... nice shot of that street in NY city... not because of the Portuguese flags, I like the shot of the street scene in Provincetown, my favourite, though the bottom shot depicts well what NYC is...

  6. Thank you, Belita. I returned to Provincetown in October. It was a rainy day and the street wasn't as populated as it was that summer evening. It was much like the piazza in Florence. That visit to NYC in May was an attempt to photograph the elements of NYC. There could have been more photos if I were with other photographers.
