This was taken on a sailing trip around Corsica in '85. It is my sister that sits like the Little Mermaid in the Copenhagen harbour inlet.


The USS Wasp steaming north through Öresund heading home after a NATO exercise near Copenhagen.


The very first photo I took with my then newly purchased Nikon Coolpix compact. I just snapped it off and the result, as you see, is quite remarkable.

This is always a wonderful theme, at least for me. I go looking for shadows and light and silhouettes.

Thanks for hosting Mitch and I so had to laugh at my fried eggs, sunny side up.

Here are some silhouettes taken from my garden at sunset.

Here are some shadows reflecting on the body of my neighbour's sphinx cat.

Some shadows on the wall caused by the sun shining through the blinds.

I don't know if this one qualifies, but the light effect of Mr. Swiss early in the morning on the computer seemed to be asking for a photo.

Hi everyone, this is Mitch. I'll be hosting this week. It's said that one of the most important things in photography is light. But with light comes an opposite: shadow. So the theme this week is SHADOWS, along with it's companion: SILHOUETTE!!

Here are mine:

1) Very tall people? Or Very low sun? LOL.

2) Silhouette of Laugharne Castle, Wales.

3) Tree silhouetted by sunset.

4) Shadows and light in the forest.

Many thanks to Belita for hosting this week. What a great idea for a theme!! It could be used for just about any photo, with a little thought!!  I enjoyed looking for variations on this theme.

Here are mine: 

1) This litter is neither natural nor eco-friendly!!

2) These lobster-pots were neither in the sea nor full of lobsters!!!

3) The Landsker Cross is neither solid nor made from one piece!!

4) This mirrored fountain is neither dull nor dry!!

It's neither my garage, nor my kitchen - but my laundry room and on the right at the back, the wine cellar.

It is neither the local bus, nor our car, but the farmer spreading muck over the fields of the village.

It is neither an exhibit at the local food fair, or the product of an ostrich, just two normal eggs being fried in a pan.

It is neither mine, nor is it the neighbour's, but my husbands great grand-daughter, born just over a month ago.
