Picture This #354 ~ Electronics In Our Lives

Hi everyone from the Swiss mountains, at least near the Swiss mountains, but everything is near the Swiss mountains in Switzerland. Mitch asked and I obeyed, although as usual on Friday as I just do not have the time on Saturday morning.

I do not get out as much as I would like to to take photos, but last week visited a new museum in our town showing a collection of old electronic stuff, so that is my theme, the older the better, although new stuff is also welcome.

If anyone might have one of these around it would be interesting. The very first Apple computer marked with a price of $666.66, although that was 1976. Just imagine what it would be worth today and an original made with wood.

My aunt had a gramophone something like this.

Some of the golden oldies amongst us may remember this faithful dog that was His Masters Voice for many years.World of Information 25.05.2016 Exhibition 10010ENTER0101 (9)

I really do not know what this is, something to do with electricity, but made an intersting shot.

Anyone remember these. I do, they were a large part of my office life when I was a working woman.

  2. Hi Pat!! Many thanks for hosting this week. Good theme, one we've not had before. I really like that you found examples of 'old' electronics (although old applied to electronics isn't particularly old in years as opposed to, say, steam engines or printing-presses!!). Great shot of the original Apple computer. Things have changed a lot in 40 years!! I love that old wooden radiogram, we used to have one in my grandparent's house when I was a child. Ahhh, the 'His Master's Voice' logo certainly brings back memories, too!! The object in photo 4 is very odd, not seen anything like it. Of course, anyone who grew up with early electronic typewriters and printers would be familiar with the 'golfballs' in the final shot.

  3. What a fascinating old Apple!! With a wooden base no less. That's just marvelous. I don't know what your fourth shot is either, but it has an elegant beauty. And of course I remember those typewriter balls. Wonderful look at old electronics.

  4. Hi Pat! Thanks for selecting such an interesting subject for this week. I really like the four images. Ah the good old days, though our lives would be harder today if we hadn't our electronic equipment. I love that 'His Master's Voice' which I remember well and so I do the selectric type elements.
