PICTURE THIS #369 ~ VOLUMETRIC/GEOMETRIC SHAPES

Hello, PT fellows! Belita here to host this week's Challenge. All of you know well how difficult the choice of a never–chosen-before theme is. Done or not done before, let’s share photos for ‘volumetric/geometric shapes’. Difficult? Not much... Think of playing dice and you’re looking at a cube... Buy a soda can and you are getting a cylinder, while a storage box or bricks like the ones used for house construction are rectangular prisms. I'm sure your imagination is better than mine. Let's see the shapes you want to share on here.

  3. Thanks for hosting Belita with such a good theme. could not have suited me better trying out my new lens. Love the spheres - I thought they were eggs at first. Architecture has interesting shapes. As a photographer,I think we are all aware of the shapes in life, even the sales stand. Fruit comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes making it all the more interesting.

  4. Thank you for hosting. Such an interesting theme. Those spheres fascinate me. I am trying to decide what they are. Lovely picture of the furnace and so many elements in the photograph to catch my eye. The furnace, the weeds, the bricks and the shadows on the walls. Love the lemonade stand and also the oblong shaped fruit.

    1. Benni, those spheres are simply used for garden decoration. They are made out of marble.

  6. Hi Belita!! Many thanks for hosting this week, and for giving us another new theme!! Those 'spheres' in the first shot are great for a game of 'what is this?' I have no idea what they are, but they do remind me of cannonballs. That furnace is fascinating, I wonder what it was used for? A most unusual shape. The Lemon Bar is a good example of seeing a shape where perhaps no-one would think of looking. What lemon produce does he sell? Drinks? Ice-cream? Those fruits in the final shot are also unusual. I don't think I have seen them before.

    1. Mitch, as I mentioned above, those spheres are used for garden décor. No idea what that furnace was used for. I saw that stand in Vilnius (Lithuania) and he was selling lemonade with strawberry, lime and lemon, very popular over there. The bottom shot shows pershore plums.
