Cold he says ! ? .................. in 36 degree C heat ??? Noooooooooooooo..........................

it was cold in August though and if you want snow pictures,  here they are...........

Stopped in The Drakensberg on the way to Durban on the Sea for some summer heat. For 200 km through Harrrismith and to Pietermaritsburg was nothing but snow............

  1. South African snow seems to be in the highlands. Have never seen an elefant with snow on its trunk come to think of it. I love the bird all fluffed up. Interesting pics.

  4. Hi Marianne. Ha!! I knew you had some cold shots, coz I remembered the Drakensberg shots from earlier in the year. Had to look twice at that first shot, but yes I did see it.....a bird in flight!! Nicely captured. That second shot is the one I remembered, majestic and cold!! Love the snowy plains in the third shot. Mr Eagle looks a bit chilly in the last shot. Probably thinking "I'll follow Marianne down to the sea for some sun" LOL.

  6. All very nice indeed. The one of the dome, or mountain looks a lot like our steamboat mountain here in Washington. How cool. Pardon that pun. LOL I didn't mean it that time. Great works.

    1. Thank you Kia, those 2 are also my favs of the set. It was Winter Wonderland, thank god for digital cameras , I took over 300 photos on that trip. We were driving down to get to Durban, where sunshine and 26deg and shorts and bikinis was in order, from our freezing Joburg at minus 2. Strange but interesting trip that was. Will look for the Multiply blog and see if I can repost it out of interest.
