PT Challenge 177: Water In Motion

Many thanks to Baz for being our first guest-host on the new PT site!! He has chosen a great theme in 'Water In Motion'. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's shots for this one.

I had lots of photos to fit this theme. Here are my entries:

1) Sunshine Showers, Upton House, Dorset.Sunshine Shower

2) Sunlit Waterfall, Zion National Park, Utah. Sunlit Waterfall 2

3) Wild Waves, St Govan's Headlands, Pembrokeshire. Wild Waves 1

  1. Love the rain live - perfect. The catch of the sun on the water drops is great and the Welsh waters are certainly rough and rocky. All three wonderful captures of the water action.

    1. Thanks Pat. Rain, I've found, is not the easiest thing to capture well. It's best if there is sunlight at the same time. Which isn't all that often!!! LOL. The crashing waves are a regular feature of our rocky coastline here in Pembrokeshire.

    1. Thanks Belita. It was just the right place to capture a 'sunshine shower', the courtyard outside the cafe I was sheltering in had lots of nice flower arrangements.

  4. Just the day to stay indoors. Standing underneath that would prolly be great. Majestic spray of water.

  6. That first shot of the garden in the rain is one of those that makes me just take a breath in - wow. Colorful and peacefu.Look at the moss on the roof - you must get a lot of rain. It almost looks - hobbity.

    1. Thanks Benni :-)) The roof on my own house tends to gather moss like that, too. It's the rather damp climate we get here!!! LOL.

    1. Hi Danette. No storm that day, the sun was shining, but there was a very strong wind blowing in off the sea that was creating really big waves.

  9. I remember the first one, sunshine showers, I have tried for ever to photograph a rain storm, without luck. The waterfall from behind is also familiar, a great shot, too. Love those wild waves, slippy on the rocks, I am sure. Lovely contributions.

  10. I am really impressed how you captured the rain fall in the first shot.
The third surely shows the water movement.

  12. I'm impressed by the way you pictured the rain... fantastic! (I even had a look at your exif info; I thought you had a longer exposure time...) I love the last one very much too... lovely little blue touch in the water :)

    1. Thank you Kia :-)) It didn't really need a longer exposure, the sun was shining through the rain quite strongly, a longer exposure would have caused some 'burn-out'.
